I use this program:
CC Cleaner it is free and it cleans registry and many other things. Very solid software.

Sophos has a free root kit cleaner.
CCleaner.com has a registry cleaner as well. It is also free.

Yes - boot an Ubuntu cdrom and type “dd if=/dev/null of=/dev/hda”
Now - don’t REALLY do this - it’ll wipe your disk, which from us Linux bigots would be your first step to redemption.
