Its a carp. They’re nearly invincible.

My college roomie and I kept a lobster alive in our fridge for a few days wrapped in a wet towel. He was a big hit with the ladies, until they found out we ate him.

A 13 year old goldfish can survive without water longer than far too many 13 year old kids can without TV, vidoe games, facebook, bad music or any form of electronic amusement.

...Moores said. "But to come back to life like this after so long sounds remarkable."

Maybe I'm easily impressed, but coming back to life after any amount of time sounds remarkable to me.

Goldfish are nothing but carp with pituitary problems. Filthy little buggers, too - they can foul the best tank filter money can buy in a couple of days. I had one of those in one of my tanks, once. It pissed off my dragonfish in the middle of the night one time too many, and there was nothing left the next morning but a head and tail connected by a backbone. Gruesome, but fascinating.

Thank the Lord for Global Moderation(tm).

Were it not for Global Moderation(tm), the paper would have either dried out due to Global Warming, killing the fishy. Or, if Global Cooling were in effect, the fishy would have been frozen to the point of frosting over, killing him.

But Global Moderation(tm) prevented the evaporation of necessary moisture, yet cool enough to slow down the metabolism... thus helping keep Fishy fish from smelling like Dead Fish.

If you have any great aquarium photos, I’d love to see them.

I like the beautiful discus.
