My wife voted for Barack Obama. Although she is marginally a democrat (she grew up in a dem family), she's only voted twice since she became of voting age. Once for Bill Clinton in '92 and this last time in 2008 for Barack Obama.
My wife thoroughly hates politics and nearly sat out the 2008 election until she got swept up in the "Historics of the Moment".
Although I can't get away with "bashing" Obama constantly to her---she herself now deplores him and can't stand to see him or Michele on the tv.
Now after this HC debacle ("they can't even run the $#%@&!!! post office!!!!"---my wife says of the gov't), she has vowed to vote GOP no matter what come November 2010 & 2012.
Funny thing is the only Republican she likes is Sarah Palin, although she'd "take a trained poodle on a unicycle" over Obama now.
My question is, how wide spread is this discontent among other ran-n-file, average everyday Dems and Obama voters?
Anyone else have any real life stories to share?
Don’t vote GOP for the sake of voting GOP. Vote for people you can trust, not politicians.
candidate in training below?
>To a family member by marriage, Obama was The Man in November 2008 and Palin was an idiot.
>
>To the same relative in December 2009, Obama was the idiot.
>
>I tried to stifle my smirk.
Just because “Obama is an idiot” doesn’t mean that “Sarah Palin is NOT an idiot,” logically speaking. There’s no association/relation between the objects “Obama” and “Sarah Palin.”
I’m only know two people that I am certain voted for Obama. They’re not happy and it’s not because this bill “didn’t go far enough.”
Most of the democraps I know are die-hard liberals and wouldn’t admit they were wrong about anything. They are sitting silent and tight lipped when I or others talk about and criticize this heinous legislation or the way it was passed.
Democrat and union tools and fools.
I know several Obama voters that are furious now.
I don’t hang out with Obama supporters. ( or maybe they don’t hang out with me) .
Unfortunately, I just heard an account of an overheard conversation which took place at a restaurant in a conservative state last evening; most of a group of young adults were eagerly talking up the health care bill’s passage, the coming cap and tax, and a one world government which would punish the exploitative industrialized nations. And one was talking up the need for the government to force people to return to subsistence farming as a way of life in order to save the Earth and to create a just society.
Sheesh, you can say that again.
>I dont hang out with Obama supporters.
I never said you should. I just said that it is better to vote for PERSON than a PARTY. A person is able to be reasoned with, persuaded, or otherwise convinced (like the parable of The Unjust Judge); on the other hand, a party is beholden to no-one and can (if large enough) always send you to someone else, adopting the Bureaucratic/Rat-in-a-maze philosophy.
I really love reading stories like yours. Sadly, the liberals I know (friends and family) still approve and like Obama and his policies. All hard-core liberals. Although, one of them wishes Hillary was president. We don’t talk politics; we have other common interests believe it or not. One of them actually watches FOX news all the time (to find out the other side’s talking points).
You know that’s something I never see anymore. Obama bumper stickers. None. They’re all gone.
My parents are dems. Dad didn’t vote last election but mom voted for Obama. She has developed some buyers remorse with him but thinks that this health care law is just going to be great for America.
I’ve told her how wrong she is but she’s hard headed and will have to learn the hard way....when the Death Panel rejects her request to live.
“You know thats something I never see anymore. Obama bumper stickers. None. Theyre all gone.”
Can’t say that about this area (SF Bay Area, CA) There are fewer, no question, but I still see great numbers of them. Of course, this area is absolutely incurable.

Buyers Remorse.
A common outcome for otherwise sane people that got caught up in
the media/political to convince people that they MUST vote for
“America’s First Black President”.
No matter he’s an advocate for abortionists, corrupt as too many
Chicago politicians are, and was raised and works as a socialist.
I’d give your spouse credit for coming to her senses.
Well like so many other female voters, your wife is a DIP $HIT!!
You know thats something I never see anymore. Obama bumper stickers. None. Theyre all gone.
A friend of mine parked next to a liberal with an 0bama bumper sticker. The guy’s appearance just invited making a remark and my buddy told him that he’d be smart to take that bumper sticker off his car because pretty soon, he’d be inviting someone to kick his a$$.
I didn't say there was or wasn't. I simply noted what a family member said. He didn't mention any change in view toward Palin, just toward Obama.
