Given his prediction for a top stock market this year of 10-11K before the next slide, I have been very cautious. His predicted timing may be off, but his reasoning is sound to me. What he predicted for real estate is exactly what has been happening to me :-(

I think I would look at places that elect sane conservatives to political office and where the work ethic and individual responsibility still prevail among the townfolk
Become a “fixer”...someone who knows how to get through the red tape basically by knowing who to bribe with gold, cognac, cigars and other contraband to get things done.
Maine is a marxist state.
1) The govt controls the capital, not the market.
2) Companies have too much bureaucracy that makes a goal of profit quite far down the list.
3) Companies are more worried about political correctness, than me the stock holder.
4) There is very little morality in company mgt. It is short term decisions for what they can get. They are not worried about me, the stock holder.

The intention of The Democrats (and liberals generally) in this legislation is clear and impossible to hide - they intend to completely destroy private health care in favor of a fully-government-run single-payer system. The efficient market guarantees this outcome given the law they passed, and they know it.
I cannot stop this idiocy but I can sure attempt to profit from it.
I am looking to establish the largest targeted short positions of my investing career if and when the technicals confirm that this obvious arbitrage is about to, or is, taking place.
This is one place where a fistful of PUTs can easily turn thousands into hundreds of thousands, and is an extremely-high probability play.

I spoke to a Romanian man in Canada a few weeks ago. He started a business in aviation which has to be licensed. It took them 3 months to get around to his application. Then they told him “no.” He believes that a competitor in the town that he used to work for bribed the appartchiks. He has had to mortgage his home because of the delay . . . and has hired a “fixer” to help him with the paperwork. His voice was strained as he talked about it. He said he thinks it is worse in Canada than it was in Romania.

I have a friend that likes to help with disaster relief. Hurricanes, floods. She said that when she had water to deliver the Red Cross told her to go to the Guardian Angels to get it done . . . they actually had trucks and the men to use them. Red Cross couldn’t deal with a truck of water after a hurricane.
