It seems someone picked up s pistol off a vendor's table and shot a friend in the chest. More to follow.
shocking
That dealer is heading for some deep doo-doo.
Why was the gun loaded? This sounds suspicious. Need more info.
Smell testing....
Ping
Why do these things seem to be scripted and so perfect for the PR battle against the second amendment rights?????
So there were at least TWO stupid people there—the idiot who pointed the pistol at his friend and the dealer with the loaded weapon. This is a shame.
Safety FAIL
First consideration: Whose f/prints are on the casing?
I hope the evidence was preserved. As far fetched as a display weapon being un-secured, available, and loaded, in the custody of a dealer...and that being the one of hundreds to be selected, is the possibility of a near-perfect plan for murder. Wonder if the shooter took ejected and handled the casing in ‘disbelief’??
Cops go to schools and have firearms discharge, firearm instructors have firearm discharges, and now a gun show. the 1st two are pro’s and the gun show guy probably handles more guns than the 1st two put together and just got lazy one time.
guy I knew (since passed from natural caused) accidentaly shot a customer in the gun store he worked in...figured the counter between them was a safe backstop to let the slide slam home and bang....shot the customer in the leg....put her in the hospital....where she recovered fully...
....put the store outta business....he was sued too, but had nothing for her to sue him for...
IF, and I repeat - IF this is a true account of what happened, then I see a few things coming:
1. The vendor will be in deep doo-doo.
2. This will be a HUGE tool for the anti’s to further regulate gun shows.
After a long hard day at the gun show the friend felt ‘just shot!’
Most of the blame belongs to the dealer. Visitors should be expected to be stupid, as this case illustrates. And not only stupid, they can be expected to be clueless about firearms, safety and everything else. The dealer should have secured the firearm, best if by partial disassembly. My personal preference at the range, when cease fire is announced, is to remove the bolt from the rifle and set it aside.
Three.
The one who got shot should never have been hanging around with someone so stupid that he’d point a firearm at him.
Most of the AD's I've seen have come from people who did know what they were doing, and just weren't applying their knowledge.
I'd advise his friend to lay down and play dead then.
