BWA HA HA HA HA !!! - Arnold from ‘Happy Days’ laugh.
Of course they don’t have the votes. All this BS about them having the votes and it being all over, if they had the votes, the bill would be voted on TODAY, it’s not, because they don’t have the votes. They are using the same strategy that the media used in 2008, telling people that the election is over, Obama won, don’t bother voting, if more people had shown up McCain might have won, so don’t let the media and Pelosi screw people again, they DO NOT HAVE THE VOTES
So what happens if they do not attend the “mandatory” meeting? Puh-LEEZE.
Amateur hour.
Let’s see if 216 show up.
Wow, you’d think at least one or two of them would have an ego large enough to buck being told what to do by the Executive Branch. The thing is, they are too stupid to realize that by ordering them around, they are giving up the power of the Legislative Branch to a moron who could care less about them.
Obama: “SCREW the American people, this is about ME.”
If I were a Democrat “no” — I’d tell them to take their ‘mandatory’ meeting and cram it.
SnakeDoc
With the spate of public vote announcements (yeses and nos) in the past couple of days, the result might even be known before Sat. night.
If I was a Democrat no vote, I definitely wouldn’t eat or drink anything while at that meeting.
This is probably a meeting to tell them that if this does not pass on Sunday (”and we will absolutely have the vote”), all hell will break on top of their heads. He’s going to scare them into submission somehow, I think.
Sadly, I think the Stupack bloc will cave.
I don’t think I’ve read in the constitution that the president gets to call a mandatory closed door meeting for the members of the House...
just what is a mandatory meeting...will no shows be shot????
This will pass, come hell or high water. Just you watch. This man is so close, he can taste it, and he will not let this opportunity pass him by. He is a marxist in the style of Lenin.
It's gonna be a jump ball with a fight on the way down.
These things usually don't work but on rare occasions.
Somebody on another thread gave this alternate hypothesis: they have the votes, they just need to argue among themselves which marginal Rep can avoid having to fall on his sword in order to pass it with the least damage in November.
They’re just getting their talking points together...no matter which way the vote goes.
When I think of those Dems now on the saddle, I keep being reminded of the character played by Robert Ullrich in “Lonesome Dove”.
He rode with cold-blooded murderers and although reluctant, did nothing to intervene in the killings, except some words “I did not sign up for this”.
At the end, he was hung along with those who committed murder.
Morale of story: You better not bet that you will not be found guilty if you did nothing to stop murder.
The Dem leadership is committing cold-blooded murder on Americans.
He told Bret Baier that he did not get involved in the legislative process. He wouldn't have been lying now would he?
Peer pressure x 1000.
