Jimmy Cliff is one of reggae’s greatest. He deserves at least a small post next to the other rock n roll brothers. I don’t agree with their politics, but I LOVE all their music. Damned lib conundrum....but I’m happy to smoke and party with their type nonetheless.
I’m still waiting for them to induct Rush (the band, not the pundit).
ABBA gets in, but legends and trendsetters such as Alice Cooper and KISS get stiffed again!?!

Pretty soon they will run out of R&Rs to induct. Shoosh, everything in R&R has been derivative of the originals since around 1978. Does Tom Petty pay royalties to the Byrds? Did Elton John and Madonna actually kill R&R? Its so bad that lead guitarist just steal licks note for note from the originals. To paraphrase Frank Zappa: R&R isn’t dead, it just smells funny.

The best act not in the Rock hall of fame is Tommy James and the Shondells. Bar none.
Hard to believe now but Hanky Panky broke through the censorship ban; Mony Mony one of the alltime best rock dance songs, if not the best; Dragging the Line, the great guitar, etc.
His songs tracked a generation, starting with little make out songs, falling in love, getting drunk, doing drugs, going to work.
