>>”We need to re-regulate the airlines,” he says.

Now there’s an idea.<<

Yeah, time after time we have seen how well regulation of private industry has worked.

(do I need the /sarc tag?)

You should consider traveling on Amtrak instead.
They just started offering free Wi-Fi on their Acela Express routes.

Maybe Useless Air should charge a courtesy fee — so that their employees will actually be nice to us.

Dang — for months I tethered and paid for my own Internet access.

But I was able to bring my own beer on board so it was kinda cool that way. And in Business Class you got a bottle of water and cheese and crackers...

There is no fee big enough for ANY airline to start doing that...

I’d travel on Amtrak more often if it had a decent schedule. Around here, if you want to go to DC by train, you have a choice of exactly one direct train. But at least you don’t have to go through the hassle of air travel. It’s a shame — flying used to be fun. Not anymore.

Southwest usually does it for free. I've had very, very few unpleasant experiences with them and I fly them a lot.

When I see someone working for Southwest and they're in a bad mood I wonder what's wrong with them. When I see someone from another airline and they're in a good mood I wonder what they're on.

I’ve had similar good experiences with Southwest. The others — well, you find good and bad employees. But Useless Air has some of the unhappiest employees I’ve ever seen, and they take their anger out on the customers. Not good for business.

Don’t travel Amtrak in FL unless you don’t object to a variable 1 to 10 hour lateness window.

I agree on both — I should have exempted SW from my claim.

:)

You should consider traveling on Amtrak instead.

AMTRAK combines the competence of our current congress with the sanitary environment of a San Francisco bath house!

Paid for by your tax dollars straight through Uncle Sugar's Tit.

How could you not love that!

I flew United to a predeployment conference and home for my Mother’s funeral. They’ve always treated military great. For what it’s worth, they’re my choice.

SW is great. When a man walked off the plane with my laptop computer case, a stewardess ran after him and brought it back to me. They were wonderful when I wrote them a letter saying how grateful I was for the quick response from her. We have no idea why he took off with it but one thing is sure. I WILL be more careful in the future no matter how nice a person is after offering to get it from the above storage area. I learned my lesson.
