WASHINGTON,- An exotic dancer alleges in a lawsuit she and her fellow dancers should be paid wages in addition to tips at their Washington strip club.
Quansa Thompson said she could earn as much as $1,200 a night stripping at The House in Washington, but those funds came primarily from tips as the strip club's operators only paid dancers $20 each for showing up for work, The Washington Post said Friday.
Thompson, 29, is suing her former employer under the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938. She alleges under the federal law, operators of The House are required to pay their exotic dancers wages beyond the base $20 payments.
Thompson, who was fired from the strip club last summer, told the Post if her U.S. District Court suit results in her fellow exotic dancers gaining additional workplace rights, she would consider a return to the stage.
"It would be the best job," she said of exotic dancing. "People would have more respect for it."
Earth to stripper, earth to stripper, "Go ask Wall Street Bankers if earning more money equates to more respect!"
It’s a real shame when the whores no longer know their place.
Ladies, I hear pole dancing is a good workout. Don't knock it.
Some Freeper could post YT stripper workout video links. LOL!
1,200 a night is a six digit a year income. Unless she only works weekends. That's still in $50K range. And I'll bet she grossly under reports her income on taxes.
Next week she'll complain they don't get vacation time, sick leave, and insurance benefits.
Let's just fix it now. Get paid minimum wage, full benefits, all tips go to the house.
She, of course, paid taxes on this $1,200 a night she was making.
Are you referring to the stripper or the Wall Street Bankers?
I am being sarcastic of course.
They provide a venue where she makes that much, and she wants an extra $5.75 an hour??? This is one greedy and ungrateful stripper. What is wrong with honoring the contract she agreed to in order to obtain that $1,200 a night, as if she had integrity? And, no, I wouldn't respect her any more if she made minimum wage on top of her tips.
Good money while it lasts but ‘’Men grow cold as girls grow old and we all lose our charms in the end...’’ My advice to said ‘’dancer’’ ; honey, buy diamonds.
The real point is that she is UNEMPLOYED.
Think about it.

“Thompson, who was fired from the strip club last summer,”
Im betting that her lawyer smelled a really bad case, but took it anyway so long as she paid in either cash or trade.
THAT’S THE STUFF!!! :-)
from article: “”It would be the best job,”
Let’s see.....
$20 for showing up.
$1200/night. Much of it never recorded income.
AND at least minimum wage .
Yep. That would be pretty darn good. Maybe she should start her own ‘strip club’, if it’s that good of an idea.
Looks like Rahm, on the left.
I’m wondering if she reports her 1200 nightly tips.
at $1,200 a night, she should already see it as the best job for her (if she really does think that)... if she wants respect, then she needs to choose another line of work... she's wack...
