MARIETTA, Ga. -- A Marietta woman was treated and released from the hospital after being bitten by a pit bull.
CBS Atlanta News spoke to the victim, Brittney Wrenn, over the phone.
Wrenn, who is seven months pregnant, said she is doing well and so is her baby.
She told CBS Atlanta News that she fought off the dog, kicking it, all while trying to block and protect her stomach.
Her sister-in-law, Rachel Wrenn, said the pit bull is too dangerous for the neighborhood.
Rachel came home moments after Brittney was attacked. Rachel described what led up to the attack, "She was outside walking her mother's dog and her dog and this dog just ran toward her and attacked her."
She said the dog was not on a leash.
Cobb County Animal Control picked up the dog. It will remain in their care until the investigation is complete. CBS Atlanta asked the Pit Bull owner what happened but all she said was that her dog had never attacked anyone before.
However, Wrenn said that was not true. She said the dog attacked a neighbor two years ago.
Cobb County Police confirmed that animal control has responded to a dog-related incident at the Glynn Oaks Court address in the past.
Police are now reviewing that previous case.
You know what’s coming, right...? (lol)
Guns don’t kill people ... vicious bloodthirsty dogs kill people.

“And so is her baby.” They mean, of course, ‘that clump of tissue that has no rights.”
She’s just feelin’ that pitbull lovin’ just like this gal did.

Yeah, of course, it didn't ... *rolls eyes*
It’s just like jihadis who get a case of Sudden Jihad Syndrome (SJS). In this case its call Sudden Vicious Dog Syndrome (SVDS).
. I wish we could sic group 2 on group 1.
I had to put down a pit bull once, they don’t die easily even with a center of mass hit with a 10mm.
I feel sorry for the control officer but also for that poor dog. That unstable and evil woman told her dog to attack the officer, it was just doing what it was supposed to.
Horrible.
You should see the YT videos that have been posted showing children who have been mauled and also labrador retrievers.
Get with the program, Chet. The name of that breed, formerly the American Pit Bull Terrier, is now the American Staffordshire Terrier. Doesn’t that have a much more elegant ring to it?
Dunk the idiot owner in gravy and let the bit bull have at her. Afterwards, put down the dog as well.
I can’t watch them; it’s a tragedy all around.
That video is a classic example of a breed being destroyed by people who have no idea what a good dog is for.
They are nort the same breed. Ther are several “bully “ breeds. Am Staff does not equal Pit bull does not equal bull terrier.
” CBS Atlanta asked the Pit Bull owner what happened but all she said was that her dog had never attacked anyone before. “
So here we have it. A “family pet” that “turned” on someone? Nope. A dog whose owner was so ignorant, so lazy, so selfish that when this dog showed aggression years ago, not only did she not euthanize it, but she allowed it to run loose. And you still blame the breed?
Tell me, what person has ever admitted their dog WAS a problem, but they chose to do nothing? Owner irresponsibility, as the experts all agree, is the cause of dog attacks, and I don’t see how you can’t see it.
Pit bulls are the most popular breed right now, and for that we will see more reports on them (not to mention they make money for the media), but what do you think will happen if they are banned? You will all be so safe, living with your labs and doxies and border collies, right?
Unfortunately, the biggest bit of proof that it isn’t the breed comes from these places that have banned them. Not seeing a drop in serious attacks is pretty sad, but what’s worse is that the people living there could care less about the woman whose face was ripped off by her greyhound, or the two children who died last year in separate incidents involving weimaraners. They’re all so much safer now that pit bulls aren’t the dogs they’re getting killed by.
By Googling “American Staffordshire Terrier” I was led to the website that provided the information that I posted earlier, regarding where the breed wad developed and the name given to it, before it was renamed American Staffordshire Terrier.
Finis!
While it is true that an already registered American Staffordshire Terrier can be dual-registered as an American Pit Bull Terrier, the standards for each are different. Am Staffs tend to be stockier dogs, whereas APBT tend to be smaller and more wiry. Of course I am referring to dogs that fit the standard for each and would have a chance at winning in conformation. By AKC standards, they are two different dogs, and they will not register any APBt because they do not recognize the breed.
