Most Americans trade an hour's sleep this weekend for more evening sunshine to enjoy after work.
Officially the change to daylight saving time occurs at 2 a.m. Sunday, local time, though most folks set their clocks and watches ahead an hour before going to bed on Saturday

I think it is crap. There is NO evidence it works. Another attempt by Govt to manipulate our lives.

Agreed, let’s stop the stupidity!!! Couldn’t we just set the clocks ahead/behind 1/2 hour and call it good?

    I’m a happy Arizona resident - we don’t play DST. :)

The last study that was done proved the opposite. In Taiwan where energy is expensive, they do not have it.

I have two of these clocks that “listen” to WWVB. As such, they automatically adjust themselves to DST as necessary.

The problem is that everyone else does, so meetings with people out of state will have to be earlier anyway, and you’ll be out of sync for the next 6 months.
Might not matter depending on what you do and where, though..

Why do you stay in Kalifornia? You like high taxes. Texas does not have an income tax, you know. Texas has other advantages too, but you likely know that.

There’s good reason why Arizona doesn’t follow DST: if they had DST the summers would be completely unbearable with longer daylight hours.

Oh my....It would appear that this Polar bear has no where else to go. Oh the horror! I’m sure that photo is completely accurate....(when in reality, just out of range (conveniently) of the lens there’s a big glacier sitting.

What application(s)? I used to do that, too, along with DB conversions.

How interesting. Sounds like a good position...do you or the company you work for, feel any affect from the current downturn?

Thank you. We've tried DST here in Arizona. (Only the Navajo Reservation observes it.) It was a disaster. Little kids playing T-Ball and Little League had to be up very late because at 7 p.m., the sun was still high in the sky and it was 112-115 degrees some evenings. So they'd have to start playing at 8 or 8:30. Families wanting picnic would have to wait sometimes until 9 for it to be cool enough. Only took one year, and we repealed it. Every once in awhile some newbie moves to Arizona and decides he or she is going to run for the legislature. Then he or she introduces a DST measure because, by gosh, we like back there in Ohio. That legislator is bombarded by irate people inviting him to move home.

It’s not usually platform migration (I have done a few of those). It is both installation of new systems (from old legacy systems) and upgrades of extant systems.

LOL! I have to sing in church tomorrow. so I have to be there 15 min. early. Hope I make it. We’ve been practicing for weeks on this one song and they clearly can’t do it without me.

Some, but there are strategies to offset them. Times are a bit tight for everyone but we are still winning work.
