What is Aftershave?

Aftershave is a product used most commonly by men on the skin of the face after shaving, although products for women to use exist as well. In addition to smelling good, aftershave helps keep the skin smooth and in good condition, a concern for men who shave every day. Also, as an alternative to commercial aftershave products, men can also formulate their own with specific ingredients or scents so that they can smell unique and have smooth, silky skin.

Mrs. B & I are old friends. She has shared her secrets of success for a long, loving relationship and I think she should write a book. ;)

Anyone know of an aftershave to match the kind of sandlewood scent used by old time barbers? I have memories of this scent as a kid, but never have found anything to quite match. bump to find the answer

I find it tastes just the same.

LOL, I remember Hai Karate and Old Spice. Even after I started shaving, I never did quite understand the purpose of splashing alcohol on my face after shaving. What...did I need to do that so I wouldn’t catch some germ from myself? Was it just manly to feel pain? Or was the irresistable scent vital to my future procreation? Of course, we didn’t have spray Axe back then.

My dad made that kinda aftershave back in the 30’s. He also added a little glycerin, if my memory hasn’t failed me. ;)
