Apparently, the owner of the bracelet was a Mormon soldier part of the battalion.
This is not likely. The mormons do not use the cross or fold their hands when praying.
I thought they found this at Macho Grande?
Did they find a Mexican War era body in a short-sleeve button-down, with a tie and a bike helmet? Haha.
Sorry, couldn’t resist.

What in the dickens would lead them to believe this was from a Mormon? They don't use any of this symbology.
The government offered to award them with terrain in Utah and Nevada where they could freely live according to their religion.

Hey what about the story that their mormon god gave them the land ???
I like the bracelet.........
How does that prove anything about the owner? Actually I live in the east and I remember seeing bracelets that look like that as a kid worn by Christians ...
It’s just a DARN! shame there is not similar archeological evidence for the Book of Mormon! Then the anti’s would quit pointing out that it is a work of fiction, like Hubbard’s Scientology.

What I don’t get, is that even if such a bracelet DID belong to a Mormon (which I personally doubt since it has so much Christian symbology), WHY are they acting like they found evidence of something earth-shattering? If the Mormon regiment was historical fact, what’s the big deal?
with the Ten Commandments in ancient English and the front and back covers of the Bible carved; 2 angel hands adorned the fasteners.

The parts look like Jewish scrolls...
The “ancient English” was probably the English from the King James Verison of the Bible which would have been widely used at that time..
Those look like praying hands...
The cross makes it Christian..
Let me know if you come up with French participation in any war they have been involved with.
