ATLANTA A high-profile Atlanta defense attorney said Monday that he's been hired to represent Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger as police investigate a Georgia woman's claim he sexually assaulted her.
Roethlisberger has not been charged. Police said a 20-year-old college student reported the assault after an encounter with Roethlisberger early Friday at a nightclub in central Georgia.
Police in Milledgeville planned a news conference Monday afternoon on the case. Steelers President Art Rooney II said in a statement the team is closely monitoring the situation.
"All of us in the Steelers family are concerned about the recent incident involving Ben Roethlisberger in Georgia," the statement said. "We cannot comment on any of the specifics until law enforcement's investigation is concluded."

Some professional athletes have a good grounding but many are so used to getting whatever they want the real world never is a consideration.
yup and the general public suffers. Just ask someone like oh say Jeff Garcia -—driving around drunk in downtown San Jose ( a bad move in the first place) with underaged girls in the car (also drink) AND an open container-——what could go wrong???
Alot of the girls I know from around here go there. There are good looking girls there, just like all the schools around here. But just like UWG, it is not known for it’s party times. My son is in Athens and the girls go there and hang out when they want to party. His friends come from Kennesaw State, UWG and Milledgeville. Long drive especially from Carrollton but he usually has at least 10 over on the weekends.
I remember him after the Steelers’ win of the 2009 Superbowl how he shouted: “This is for Obama!”
You’re right — he IS dumb.
>>Ben is a good QB, but dumber than a box of rocks otherwise.
And choosing Milledgeville as a venue for chasing women more than proves it.
LOL!!!
My brother is about to graduate from UWG. :)
Being that he could afford "The best money can buy", I agree.
My son just transferred to the US Army Infantry. I don’t think I could survive him in Athens :) His girlfriend goes to UWG, my middle son is looking there.
It happened at the Capital City right in the bathroom on Friday night.
...2009 Superbowl how he shouted: This is for Obama!
^^
Really? Or are you joking?
No I’m not joking unless I was hallucinating. I was disappointed because I was rooting for Johnny Unitas Jr. a.k.a. Kurt Warner.
o Im not joking....

Wow! Another celebrity idiot. (I don’t really follow pro sports, although I will watch a little end of season play in baseball and in football if my husband has it on. But he really is not that much into it anymore.)
It was that doddering old fool, Dan Rooney, who mentioned Obama on television immediately after the SB. Of course it paid off for him as he was shipped off to Ireland to be the ambassador.
Why do we need an ambassador to Ireland??
I heard the girl dropped out of school today.
“This is for Obama”
I believe that statement to be an outright lie. Prove me wrong....any links? I’m aure that comment would draw coverage.
“Why do we need an ambassador to Ireland??”
Because they have some cute lasses and I am currently looking to spend some time in Ireland.
He evidently had two off duty cops with him at the bar who have stated they saw nothing.

Who says ol’ QBs can’t learn new tricks? Good for him, if so.
He is in his prime, be a shame to get keel-hauled and ruined.
