Walt Baker, the prominent CEO of the powerful Tennessee Hospitality Association who was a key figure in gaining approval of the controversial $585 million convention center, sent the kind of "joke" email last night -- comparing First Lady Michelle Obama to Tarzan's Cheeta -- that might stop even Michael Richards in his tracks. Baker forwarded the racist missive -- introduced with this: "Quoting Larry the Cable Guy ... I don't care who you are, this is funny" -- to 12 prominent Nashvillians, including mayoral legislative aide Toby Compton, Nashville

The “jokesters” are prominent democrats, so it will be hard to tie this to those “nasty old conservatives”. But of course, the media will try and blame conservatives.

The price tag that will be paid by Davidson country property owners for the next 30 years, some of the debt by children not even born yet, is $ 1 billion dollars. No private interests in a project, by all experts accounts, guaranteed to lose money, but the local government decided to go forward with this turkey.
