I finally got a job, delivering and shuttling rent cars around. I haven't worked since April of '09. I hope that while I'm hanging around the "office" I can pick up on some of their operations to maybe advance to a better position. Pays minimum wage, and part time, but hey, I'm WORKING AGAIN! Wish me luck FReepers.
We’re all happy for you Capt775 !
Woot! Congratulations, hope it works out well for you!
Many, many, many congratulations and best wishes to you!
I am very, very happy for you.
Amen to that. Go for it!
Congratulations, Capt! And as you say, maybe it will lead to something better.
And may God be with you.
Bless your heart. With that attitude you will be the CEO of a company someday. Only a conservative that doesn’t want to be dependent on the government would be excited about a minimum wage part time job.
I will give you the same advice I gave my Granddaughter, no matter what position you hold, do your absolute best and you will never be without a job for long.
As my Grandfather told me, if you have a 40 hour a week job, work 41 hours - 40 for the man and one for the Lord.
Congratulations, and I mean it. I have been jobless since Dec 09.
Great news! Glad to hear!!
Good luck Capt.!!
Good luck! Wonderful news!
Capt - Great news! Good for you! I got laid off twice last year. One of the worst years of my life - but, most humbling and demainding my reliance, on bended knee, to God Almighty. Now I’m in such a better place, exactly where He wants me and I laugh at the circumstances I went through last year with turned down jobs/interviews that I ‘thought’ were God’s will - He indeed had a better plan. He always does.
Thank you all, as a side note I gotta tell you. Wife said back when, “no extra activity until you get a job!” back when I got unemployed. I can’t wait to come home after my first day at work and tell her, “I’M TOO TIRED, GO TO SLEEP!” :)
“Congratulations, and I mean it. I have been jobless since Dec 09.”
Chin up. Persistence counts. It did for the Captain. Your ship will come into port too.
Best of luck!
Congratulations! And best of luck on moving up the ladder. Even if you don’t move up the ladder at this company, it’s always easier to get better jobs when you’re already employed. Employers are nervous about hiring unemployed people, especially when they seem overqualified, because they’re likely to quit as soon as they find something a little better. Put in 6 months or so at this job, and if it doesn’t look like a move to the next rung of their ladder is imminent, start applying elsewhere.
Congratulations!
I hope your luck rubs off here and the HVAC trade picks up some before I go stir crazy!
Best of luck to you!
Freegards!
Best of luck Capt, learn everything you can, work hard and someone will notice.
I will pray for your success.
Praise God!
good luck!!
I’m about to go back out in the world myself.... I think that Dollar General might be hiring. lol.
