What a coincident. I'm in the process of reading his book: "Highest Duty".
Captain Sully is a good American. We haven't seen the last of him.

"Quite frankly, prior to Jan. 15, 2009, I was planning to work for the rest of my life. And I'm still not retiring from work. I'm retiring from the airline so I can use my time on other issues of great importance of this moment," he said. Hmmmm, wonder what he means by that last statement...??

I was wondering if he wasn’t going to pop up as an “aviation expert” contributor to Fox News, or something like that. But his statement sounds like he’s got something else in the works. Curious.

Mulally / Sullenberger 2012
Both are can-do people...Or..
Palin/ Sullenberger with Mulally as Sect of Transportation.
People are yearning for leadership and that quite soft spoken hand on the wheel.

If Sully was able to “Dead Stick” his plane into the river with enough control to safely put it down, how come the pilots on AF-447 weren’t able to?
I read a rather lengthy article yesterday on this forum about the last 4 minutes of that flight and the way I read it, the plane would not let them fly it. The computer could not be overidden. Appreciate any comments from aviation types smarter than me on this subject.
