That’s what he gets for showing our troops in a bad light.

“Some Iraq, Afghanistan war veterans criticize movie ‘Hurt Locker’ as inaccurate”

“..If this movie was based on a war that never existed, I would have nothing to comment about. This movie is not based on a true story, but on a true war, a war in which I have seen my friends killed, a war in which I witnessed my ranger buddy get both his legs blown off. So for Hollywood to glorify this crap is a huge slap in the face to every soldier who’s been on the front line...”

I don’t get it...Band of Brothers glorifies WWII soldiers, what is wrong with glorifying our soldiers today? I liked the movie.

I’m lost...

I don’t think it showed our troops in a bad light. I very much enjoyed the movie. It did tell a story that wasn’t completely realistic... the EOD guys going off on their own, without telling anybody else... on some personal mission. No, that’s just not the way it would’ve happened.

But I thought the depiction of the EOD mission, overall... was gripping.

That's ridiculous. Actual members of the bomb unit were technical advisors on the movie and the bomb guys, who went to screenings for their opinions, loved it. It hardly shows them in a "bad light". Exactly the opposite. You obviously haven't seen it and prefer to accept the word of some disgruntled "veteran" the Washington Post dug up.

It sat on a shelf, with no distributor for over a year precisely because it was such a tribute to these amazing men and didn't trash the war, the soldiers or Bush.
