PLANTATION, Fla.- Officials in a Florida town are refusing to take action against a pack of wild hogs living in an affluent neighborhood, homeowners say.
Residents of Plantation Acres, which prides itself on being a "horse community," say the feral animals are ruining their expensive landscaping, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
"They really make a mess," says Nick Perris of the local homeowner's association. "They can eat through a lot of vegetation."
One resident hired an animal removal service to relocate the hogs but so far their trapper has been unable to catch any of them.
"They've come to my house 11 times since mid-December," says Kevin Lerner. "I replaced the lawns in sections they tore up but they keep coming back."
The city of Plantation refuses to intervene in the matter and police say the hogs are just a nuisance like a rodent.
"But a rodent doesn't weight 150 pounds," Lerner says.

and maybe if we just rounded the arrogant snotty nosed yankees and sent them packing back to their liberal hell holes we’d be better off
as for selling land to land developers so these snotty nosed stuck up assholes can move down here and then complain about rednecks, flags, accents, food, no designer strip malls or stores then it is mostly the county which has been inhabited by other stuck up land developing liberal ass holes.
what gets me and others here is that they think they are loved down here , they drive their little box on wheels, have their stickers on the box on wheels saying save the planet and yet they live in the crap hole 4,000 sq ft home which is right next door to another crap hole so close that you can shake your neighbours hand.
They then think we all want to be like them
for instance these stuck up asses have the plates on the front of their car saying which no character elitist gated community they live at
zoning laws, HA what a joke, yankee ;land developers come down here buying the land off the county which was sold by other liberal stuck up yankees who got on the county board
the fact is they are here and they can complain about flags , hunting, shooting, guns accents all they want and nothing will change even if they walk around with their elitist attitude
The best dog I ever had was part Catahoula- her coloring was tri-color basset (mostly black) from her momma, but she had the speckles on her belly from her dad. Smart? Dogs can't come any smarter than that one! I've told my wife more than once that I would not have married her if my Bander hadn't approved! Bander spent the last years of her life watching closely over my daughter- she died five years ago, of old age- and I still miss that dog every day.
And she would have gone insane with happiness at the opportunity to harrass a wild pig :))
