Find the video you want. Then put “kiss” in front of “youtube” in the address at the top, and press enter. That will take you to a page that has an option to download it as a .FLV file. There are some freeware tools to convert from .FLV to .MP4 or .WMV.

I've tried several schemes and by far the best, if you are using Firefox, is the Firefox Video DownloadHelper. It works like a champ.

youtubedownloader is a free one.
Google them.

Wish I knew about this a few years ago, there were many creative music vids individuals did with songs and their imagery. But it looks like corporate greed in the name of copyright forced them to be deleted. The people were not making any money off the vids as far as I know either.
