Brian Rafalski scores two goals and sets up another as the Americans stun gold-medal favorite Canada to secure a spot in the quarterfinals of the men's Olympic hockey tournament.

A Team USA fan celebrates while the rest of the Vancouver crowd looks stunned.

I hadn’t watched a sports event since the Ron Brown crash, but this I would have liked to see.

My claim to fame is when Brian Rafalski brought The Stanley Cup to a local restaurant (when he was with the NJ Devils), and I drank beer from it!!!!
We live in the same town.

So our NHL players beat their NHL players.

Can someone PLEASE explain why in the world this matchup was broadcasted on only on MSLSD... IN LOW DEF!?!
Having to watch commercials for "ED" and "tingle up my leg" Matthews made me wanna puke.
Fantastic game though... hard hitting, and a LOT of end-to-end play. Dump and chase hockey bores me.

Looks like the Canadians are going to have to put their thinking touques on and figure out what they did wrong.

If Canada had to lose one game, this was it. Now the pressure is on the US because any lose from here on out is automatic elimination.
They need to keep up the aggressive play but also play a little more in the opposition’s zone because Miller looked shell shocked after the game.

The Americans claimed their first Olympic victory in men's hockey over Canada in 50 years with a resounding 5-3 victory that featured opportunistic, inspired play by a team described as too young and too rough around the edges to achieve much here.Sounds familiar.
U.S.A.! U.S.A.! U.S.A.!

The movie *Miracle* came out several years ago about the Miracle on Ice game about the Russians.
I never thought watching a movie about a hockey team would be so interesting but it was a great movie.
One thing my kids and I have always wondered, is if there is anywhere we could get a copy of the original, real life Miracle on Ice hockey game. I’ve seen enough video clips of it to know that a record of it has to be around SOMEWHERE.
If whoever had the rights to it would put it on DVD, they’d sell a couple copies to this household alone.
