One who wishes to pepare for a presidential run, and one who also wishes to to keep their day job as governor, is one who can’t do either properly.

2000 of the 10,000 attendees at CPAC bothered to vote in the Straw Poll. Ron Paul won;signifying nothing.
Romney and Paul have been known to push attendance at this affair. Romney has been known to buy free passes for his fan/clan.
Paul had a rather boisterous group of young men in the left in the back of the auditorium at CPAC who probably had their own money to attend.
The complete package for CPAC was $750 which included special receptions. This after phony bloggers said the First National Tea Party Convention held at a posh resort in Nashville was too expensive. Total with meals and room was about $1000. Plus you got to dine with Sarah Palin (and Piper).
Now phony claims that Sarah Palin will be at a 14 states Southern State Conference in LA. and that is was chosen over CPAC by Palin for all sorts of weak reasons. I have no idea why she did not attend CPAC except maybe the Palin family needed to clean up Todd’s Snowmachine for his Iron Man run in Alaska. Who knows.
Todd Plain is a real FAMILY GUY who adores his wife and the baby she just had. Who would not want to marry him?
My point is wherever Sarah goes, good feelings prevail among the Republican/Conservatives and Tea Party advocates. You do not need to attack the other Conventions and Conferences you just ,to date, need to get Sarah there to speak.
I like Ron Paul and his son more everyday. Even though they may be other directed in issues. I will never like Romney; and Newt is like Giuliani of New York. He will wait so long and be so lazy he will miss any presidential election support.
Reports about the significance of the results of the CPAC straw poll or the Tea Party and Sarah Plain connections are written by people who have no idea of who is who and what is what.
Palin in 2012

If a Democrat did that, we would call it “cutting and running.”

LBJ would have laughed that comment out of the Potomac.

Hmmm.

1960 was 50 years ago, LBJ was a senator and not a governor, nobody filed ethics complaints against LBJ for not doing his job while he was running, and LBJ lost the nomination.

LOL!

As I said, and correctly so, one who wishes to prepare for a presidential run, and one who also wishes to to keep their day job as governor, is one who can’t do either properly.

No, they can’t.

Palin gave up executive power because it was best for the people.

On top of that, she ensured fulfillment of her gubernatorial obligations by handing the reigns to a trusted conservative lieutenant governor. She obliterated the Democrats’ attempts to defeat her.

Romney would have first wet his pants, then run home crying to his mommy.

You would call that "cutting and running", while others would laugh at calling it such a thing.

Defeating your enemy while advancing your agenda is “cutting and running?”

You’re a nut.

It is far too early to pick any candidate for president. Rock stars make lousy presidents:...take look at the one we got.
RE The Palin endorsement in WI 7th
The merits of either candidate is not the issue...That is for the voters in that district to decide
What is at issue is this;
Right now its time to concentrate on the congressional races and encourage conservatives to run for office . At a time when conservatives in the GOP are urigng other conservatives to run in Republican primarys rather than signup with a 3rd party and run in the general election thus ensuring the same-o same-o .

A major conservative figure decides to abandon that policy and endorse a candidate’s flash fund raiser before a primary, who’s prefered by GOP blue bloods, leaving the general impression that he is running unopposed by a conservative who is not, “prefered”, and both going against an entrenched democrat /socialist congressmember .

What kind of message does that send to other potential candidates ?

Your guy is a terrible candidate that lost by 22 points last time.

The conservatives have a chance to pick up that seat with Sean Duffy, Palin supported the right guy.

22 points and your guy wants to try again?, no thanks.

I am reminded of my two favorite moments in American history...

1. The winter in Valley Forge when George Washington, realizing that his leadership had fully demoralized his troops, quit for the good of the cause and went home to write a book.

2. The time when Abe Lincoln realized that his Presidency so pissed off half of the country that they actually split...he of course realized that he couldn't govern effectively if half the country wanted to kill him, so he quit and went home to write a book.

Don’t forget Governor Palin of Alaska resigning her Alaskan office to lead a national conservative movement and how she turned 2009 into an entirely different year than it would have been without her fighting Obama on the front pages of America.

It sure beat what would have been Mitt Romney’s face representing the conservatives and the republicans.

The OP stated that Palin has been calling it junk science "before anyone". No mention of a "flip"...

From the July 2008 link:

"The Sub-Cabinet will also be making recommendations to me on how Alaskans can save energy and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. One of our workgroups, called “Government Leads by Example” will be looking at ways federal, state and local governments can save the taxpayers money while reducing government’s carbon footprint."

Yes, I looked at a few You Tube videos of David Obey. Good night! Obey has been in Congress since 1969. Obey has been in Congress too long and it shows. Obey is a rude, ill tempered socialist who would end the war on terrorism immediately. He wants the money for Big Government.

Dan Meilke is a likable man. His conservative principles are more what I want from a conservative. His positions on abortion and gay unions are uncompromising. Duffy takes a state's rights stand on such issues.

However, Meilke does need to be concerned about his appearance. There is no reason he needs to look like Obey. He is going against the youthful Duffy in the primary. Duffy shows the capacity for lots of energy in his photos and videos. That youthful impression will easily win it for him. The grandfatherly look no longer works here. Meilke needs to pick up the pace in his speaking and trim his crusty beard. He needs to give voters the assurance he has the energy to go to Washington DC and work for them.
