Sounds like a ‘taking’ to me. Whether any of the legal foundations will step up is debatable, though.

Can the Pet stores still sell Fish?
If so, PETA will have a hissy fit their precious SeaKittens weren’t protected.
BTW, what is a Pet store called that doesn’t sell pets?
Closed?

I’ve bought three dogs from pet stores. You would think I would have learned after the first one, but no...
The first was absolutely crazy. I have no other word for it. It had something severely psychologically wrong with it. The second had epilespy so badly we had to have it put to sleep at two. The third ended up paralyzed with a genetic disorder by age five.
I have also bought dogs through breeders, and had mutts. All of those experiences were very good.
I’ll be frank, I am not sure I think pet stores for dogs are a good idea. However, I am fully aware that shutting down pet stores has nothing to do helping dogs be healthier, but is more of a stealth agenda by people who think you shouldn’t be able to buy a purebred dog.
The left, continually trying to force you to abide by their twisted morality.

There ought to be a law . . . .
Wait a sec, there IS a law.
Anyone feel all 'lawed up?"
Why can't you people in West Hollywood just live and let live?
Soon they'll outlaw kitteh's with guns. Oh, when will it stop?

TN just banned the “individual” sales of cats and dogs. I assume that retail sales are still allowed.

Sounds reasonable to me. Too many animals are abused before they end up in pet stores, and those that don’t sell don’t have much to look forward to.
It is easy to get a mutt from the Pound or Craigslist, and you can get a well-bred Border Collie easy enough - would imagine it wouldn’t be too hard for other breeds as well.

Good! Those poor puppies in pet stores are so pitiful. Barely room to turn around. No excersise and their poor little paws kept slipping through the wire floor of the cage. They bite at the sides of the cages and cry so pitiful. I would buy them all if I could.

I really think in this day and age, with the internet, they rely less and less on pet shops anyway.

Maybe they should ban the sale of dead animals and animal byrpoducts: Pet food; hamburgers; hot dogs; fish; chicken; turkey; sausage; leather (oh, the irony), and so on.
