Today takes some time while hunting in the great outdoors to discuss a recent major local issue, natural gas drilling. Tom supports opening up the Marcellus Shale to drilling, with strict enforcement of regulations to protect our environment. We urgently need to access these resources for the jobs they can create. We also need this and other domestic sources of energy to ween our nation off of foreign crude oil. Thus the Marcellus Shale can help protect both our fiscal and national security. However, Tom opposes the underground storage of waste from the drilling process. He discusses some ways that this problem can be turned into an opportunity through the recycling process. But I think what really bothers me is that whatever goes on with it should be a state regulatory issue and TyrannosaurusFed has no business making a disposal co-op.
No frac, no drilling. No drilling, no gas. No gas, foreign LNG tankers in Boston Harbor. LNG tankers in Boston Harbor, liberal pucker factor rises.
All the states exploiting the Marcellus are making money and creating jobs. New York could wipe out their budget short fall without raising taxes that are killing their people.
I guess I just don’t like the pandering to the green psychos when drillers already clean up after themselves. I’d rather he take a stand based on fact instead of validating the irrational and supporting excess layers of government over a myth.
I just wonder if he dodges like this on gas drilling, what’s he going to do with global warming.
If Reed runs as a real Republican, he wins by 5% minimum. If he runs as a wishy-washy RINO, he's toast.
It's NY not TX. He's trying to thread the needle I hope he's successful
I live in NY-29 also, and I saw that video of Eric Massa being arrogant. He’s disgusting. But I’m also tired of having to choose between that and statism-lite, and being lied to one way or some other way as means of justifying big government that is going to end up as one huge financial train wreck.
He needs get real and educate people about what the facts are instead of taking the easy way out while we all end up paying for it.
