A TOP skier was left in tears when her Olympic dream ended in just FIVE seconds after she spectacularly tumbled over.

And of course it could have only come from the warped mind of the late Michael O'Donoghue.
You do realize that "epic" means "long", right? (Epic ballads have many verses, epic tales take hours to relate, etc.)

To have worked towards something for so long, put in so much effort and sacrifice and then have it all over in a few seconds. Very sad day for her.

Agreed.
Lindsey Vonn did well on the course by driving hard at the top of the course. So Marion Rolland, knowing what she had to beat, probably wanted to do the same. Or she just attacks the top of the course as part of her normal racing routine.
And you only get ONE chance to launch yourself, so if you want to go hard at the top, you launch yourself HARD out of the gate. And you know what? A hard kick-start plus oddball snow can lead to problems as Ms. Rolland experienced.
Marion Rolland had an embarrassing afternoon, but it is only an "Epic Fail" in the eyes of the ignorant.

I cheer on any young person who has the discipline to strive for excellence and accomplishment. If she puts as much heart into the rest of her life, she will surely be a success.
LOL - I get a network virus warning from that site.
One woman's personal tragedy doesn't quite get there, in my mind.
Neville Chaimberlain... Now there's a truly epic failure!
Hell, I can do that! lol
