In the big scheme of things, Tiger Woods' story really isn't all that important, but it is entertaining. He should have opened it up to the media, answered every question and then never spoken about it again. Just rip it off clean, like a band-aid and be done with it. This is one of the few times I agree with Lupica, about anything.

Incidentally, the title's spelling error is the NYDN's. Their editors must be on vacation.

Is the PGA going to suspend Tiger?

Tiger should just go back to golf. The first few tournaments,he will have to put up with some idiot hecklers, but buy returning to life this will die down.

The secrecy of hiding out makes for nothing but tabloid bait.

He only needs to apologize to his family really imho. Yes he can and will say he is sorry to his fans that held him up as a role model ect, but he owes nothing to the media, nothing whatsoever.

He embarrassed his wife terribly, to answer stupid questions from hostile media does not show respect for his family. What are they going to ask if given the chance? You know the answer!

A statement saying he apologizes to his fans, is more than enough, if I was advising him I would tell him to just as it appears he is going to do. He should conclude his statement by saying he is not going to address this ever again, its a family matter that will be kept private.

He doesn`t need to do any more than that!

I would also echo Brit Hume`s advice, that Tiger ask Jesus in to his life, oh ya and to vote for Sarah Palin!

This should be interesting if anything... Tiger Woods, Inc. trying to re-dupe the public with their tarred sh*t-sandwich. Maybe those mindless golf aficionados will buy it.. for me.... who cares?

I think this February magazine cover show Tiger pretty much saying - F*** Off and mind your own business. But that's just me.

Why does anyone care what he does off the golf course?

This has to be the biggest non story story going right now. This is what ESPN specializes in. Making a story out of nothing. He’s going to read a statement apologizing about things we already know about. He’s not going to take questions.

Don’t insult our intelligence. If you’re going to hold a press conference, answer the questions. If not, then go out and play golf. I don’t want to hear media conceived machinations of how you’ve changed!!

I don’t care whether he goes back to golf. I say that as someone who was a fan, but no longer. He can do whatever he wants, but I no longer respect him.

Most Americans don’t appreciate BUMS posing as loving, humble fathers and husbands. Especially not when those people helped make the guy both wealthy and a folk hero. And MOST especially not when that bum plays golf—a GENTLEMAN’S game. Woods belongs in the NBA, not on a golf course.

Tiger Woods is so incredibly sleazy that I wish for children’s sake he would just fade away. Even without the Tiger Woods sex tapes, stories of group sex, and jokes (likely a joke book forthcoming), he is forever tainted. This sociopath even out did Billy Clinton, Eliot Spitzer, and John Edwards combined as to number of mistresses at one time.

Golf has to get like tennis. Loud crowd and vocal atmosphere. He would be run off the course. Golf is the “better then thou” game and fans have to be allowed to get into the game. IHMO>
