Sarah Palin: Trig is Off Limits

When Trig Paxston Van Palin was born, his parents announced, "Trig is beautiful and already adored by us. We knew through early testing he would face special challenges, and we feel privileged that God would entrust us with this gift and allow us unspeakable joy as he entered our lives. We have faith that every baby is created for good purpose and has potential to make this world a better place. We are truly blessed."

At Team Sarah we believe that every child is indeed created with a purpose and little Trig Palin holds a special and very dear place in our heart.

For those in our society today who would stoop to the level of making fun of a toddler with special needs for cheap laughs and the almighty dollar, they have our pity. Anyone who resorts to comedy "material" of that magnitude is simply to be pitied, as they have forgone their own dignity in order to capture the sort of shock appeal that will pathetically sustain them with the small fraction of society that would find humor in such a thing.

Comedic hacks are nothing new to the entertainment industry. We can ignore them, we can change the channel, we can call them out when we think they've crossed the line.

For us, the bottom line is that Trig is off limits. Period.

It was clearly a dig at Trig.

No, it was clearly a dig at Sarah Palin, because she does have a child with DS, if anything it was to be a mash of Trig and Bristol. It was obvious in the way they depicted this girl, she was as obnoxious as could be, a serious jackhole, it was a snide depiction of how they believe a daughter of Palin would behave in similar circumstances.

I keep hearing how MacFarland *goes after both sides* -- so far, the only thing I've seen as hitting the left is Billy Jeff boinking Lois, hardly some insulting portrayal, considering. When I see an episode depicting the 0bama daughters incognito as truly fat black children (since they are not in any way), with all the inherent stereotypes, then I'll believe this guy hits both camps.

Can someone explain how some conservatives have sunk so low as to make their argument “They (libs) do it, so it’s okay for us to do it”.

Do I have to get my kids to explain that two wrongs don’t make a right?

I don’t know what side you stand for but I stand for the side that doesn’t make fun of innocents. I’m glad Sarah stands on that side with me. Children are innocents, especially those who aren’t yet at the age of accountability. Mentally handicapped kids (and adults) are the most innocent of the innocents.

This isn’t about Sarah and Trig, or her family’s response, this is about right and wrong. I am truly fascinated with the efforts of some to make it not wrong.

Finally, this has nothing to do with being thin skinned - Sarah has had more daggers thrown at her way than any politician I’ve ever sseen, and let it roll off.

What this is about, is her being willing to stand up for those who can’t stand up for themselves (whether it’s her kid or not). It’s the right thing to do and it’s Biblical.

Exactly. I mean just think how mean spirited comments would be received by the left , about Obama's two perky daughters?

This is the measure of the left's hate for conservatives.They go to the point of dehumanizing conservatives, which, as history shows, is the precursor to open violence.

The Trig issue is actually a litmus test for whether violence is indeed in our future.If the dehumanizing by these socialists continues, you had better prepare to fight fascism. Cause that's what we got.

Dehumanize, ostracize , then cauterize. That's what fascism does to ordinary folks.Certainly that is what was done to the Jews, and so called "mental defectives" in nationalist socialist Germany. And this is how it starts, right here, right now. And that's what the left is attempting to do to Palin. Its discouraging to see that some people who post here do not understand that, or that are here to purposefully compliment that dynamic.

And make no mistake about it,The Obama Junta and their press running dogs are indeed fascists. Take it to the bank.In this Trig issue, they are acting absolutely true to historical form and precedent. Fascists do not cotton to the imperfect, they want "pure" when it comes to children, the master race complex which exists in their minds along with euthenasia death panels for example. Sarah is fighting this for more than many think at first blush.

She was demanding, obnoxious, rude to shy-boy Chris at the restaurant, when he takes her home, she demands he prepare her a sundae (in her kitchen, btw), when he comes back with it, she complains, "Who told you to put chocolate sauce on it??!!" and throws the bowl on the carpet. She was so out-of-bounds it was ridiculous. The Stewie-song stuff is the typical parody junk McFarland does.

I’m clarifying the point that they were not portraying Trig Palin specifically, they were portraying how a child, in this case a young girl on a date, would behave since she was reared by Sarah Palin, there is a difference. It was wholly offensive, I knew from the voice interpretation just where they were going with this one, but I don’t think people should be so insistent that the insult was aimed at Trig. It was not.

They said they took the “death panels” out of the bill.....that “never existed” in the first place!!!
