“Oklahoma Christian runner”
Can’t say that...must be politically correct and say ‘runner from Oklahoma’
I know, I know...OCU is the name of the university...
Great time, but Webb’s American record is about 10 seconds better. That’s enormous....
I was thinking the same thing like who the hell cares what religion he is??? LOL.
Great time, but only good enough for third place. Title’s a bit misleading.
Or maybe I’m misunderstanding.
Misleading title is misleading(and changed).
He is the current fastest collegiate. The current fastest time in the US for this year(2010) is 3:55:75 by Chris Solinsky at the University of Washington Invitational. Still
OK, clarification: He’s not the fastest American runner, so the headline is misleading (and not what is at the link).
He was running against pros, and he was the fastest COLLEGIATE runner. There is a difference.
“Great time, but only good enough for third place. Titles a bit misleading.
Or maybe Im misunderstanding.”
He was beaten by two sponsored runners. The OP changed his own title as this kid has the fastest collegiate time but not the fastest American time.
just a small correction..
OCU is Oklahoma City University,
OC is Oklahoma Christian,
UCO is University of Central Oklahoma,
these three sometimes get confused with one another.
I do. It could cause us problems if he were Muslim. Probably just once, but once is enough.
No running required to blow up a plane.
Godspeed?
Since his name is Silas and he’s attending Oklahoma Christian, I think it’s a fair bet that he’s Christian. Could be Liberian, Nigerian, Kenyan ... lots of English-speaking African students are doing track-and-field for smaller American colleges.
It was a tongue-in-cheek comment. Just trying to have a little fun =)
Oh, sorry about that. I have a terrible literal-mindedness problem.
