Look at the two states they give us. Illinois and California. They are farther left than the USSR. That GOP of any flavor is competitive is amazing. And that we (I'm from Illinois) put up enough votes to keep Kirk honest is very important. He knows that even if he wins he has can't stray too far off the reservation or he will face a tea party candidate in the next primary.

That is why voting real conservatives in the primary is important even if you lose. It is a statement of intent, that you will cause trouble if the RINO starts to act to frequently on his RINO tendencies. To hear Kirk now giving his "I'm so Sorry" speech about Cap -n- Tax tells you that he is afraid of the tea party people staying home or voting third party. And a scared RINO is the only kind that can be trusted. But to keep them scared you need a credible threat.

Same as any true conservative.

Good to hear.

I don’t know exactly how to say this.

This movement really is not about “true conservatives”.

There are thousands of people involved in it who are actually NOT conservatives - not yet - or they are on their way to being so but have much more to learn to be “there”.

I understand the concern that the feared “moderates” (or Commie operatives masquerading as moderates or as true conservatives) might try - will try to hijack the Tea Party movement.

It is not going to happen.

But they will try.

One thing they will do is attack obviously successful, fruitful efforts that have helped get the truths of what is happening out to more and more Americans......

(did you see/hear Sarah’s speech yet?)

Hell, they had 12 to a table. I was eating off the plate of a granny from California. Not complaining, the steak was good and so were the shrimp.

"Does not mean there will be no mistakes made and no attempts to hijack the movement made."

Well said.

I've been to the hotel a number of times for meetings and conventions and it always amazed me how they get it to the table hot without over cooking everything.

The one thing that absolutely blew my mind was the outrageous way they tax beverages. The total tax is 24% on a beer or liquor. If I would have known I would have just brought my own.

That would really be bad if it’s exclusive to one location.

“...moderate Republicans are surging from Illinois to California...”

Thats like saying conservative Republicans are surging from Alabama to Wyoming. Gee who would have thought lib Illinois and lib California may have more moderates in the GOP. But out in the sticks we’ll do well even there.

Not to wear out a subject, but when ordering drinks one night I kept one of the receipts because it just looked odd.

I just pulled it out and reviewed. It is hard to believe but here’s the break down.

2 drinks total - $17.00
Sales Tax $1.57
Beverage Tax $2.55
Total $21.12

The real crappy part about this is they are actually taxing the tax!

I’m wondering if they are screwing everybody and keeping the balance not due the city.

When the Tea Parties start handing out printed signs, it's over.
I'm sure the RATs are going all out to push their own agenda during
these events but many are missing the point and will revert back to
sitting on the couch sucking their thumb...

Yeah, I called down to the hotel, that’s what they said.

I will be sure to warn everyone I know to bring their own when they go to Music City.

I might be wrong, but I’ve been to most major cities in the country and I don’t ever remember anything like this.

Do you realize that every candidate out there, conservative or otherwise is a RINO? Name any candidate and someone is going to call him/her a RINO.

Remember Bill Simon

and remember, Simon lost in large part due to back stabbing by exLA Mayor RINO Reardon and the Sacto RINO money men who starved his campaign since he had beaten a Rockefeller/lefty RINO in the primary. Of course the CA RINO money men always demand that beaten conservatives back any Repub and they undermine and sit on their hands when a conservative gets to the general. A huge loss of a “golden” opportunity in McClintock, and SchwartzenKennedy would never have made it through a Repub primary... wolf in sheeps clothing and all...
ymmv
