An Indiana man lost for four days after his car became lodged in deep snow said he survived on Mountain Dew and mountain snow.
Jason Pede, 31, said he was on his way from Dulce, N.M., to Aspen, Colo., on a rescue dog delivery when his Lincoln Navigator became lodged in deep snow on a small country road off Highway 114 near Saguache, Colo., KMGH-TV, Denver, reported Monday.
Pede said he stayed in the car, surviving on a diet of Mountain Dew and snow, and found his electronic communication devices were not functioning in the weather. He said he burned small items to keep warm but eventually decided to brave the cold to search for existence.
Pede was found Sunday morning walking into Amarillo, Texas. He said he felt healthy but hungry and looked forward to reuniting with his family.
The dog, an Australian Shepherd, was found in Pede's car and taken to an Aspen vet for treatment.
Well probably find more frozen animal worshippers and other oddball city folks thawing out up here during the run-off in a month or two.

Saguache is in the San Luis valley and there’s been a lot of that kind of hokey pokey in that area.
Ah, that makes sense. He walked just 7 miles from his car, never left Saguache, CO.
He was abducted by aliens. Kitty aliens who didnt want him to deliver the rescue dot.

The San Luis Valley, where Saguache is, is known for a lot of UFO activity. Being in New Mexico, you probably know all that.
Yup, and i meant to say rescue dog... not dot... It’s hard to type when all you have are paws!
Pede, 31, says he watches television survival shows. The one lesson he has learned is to stay with the vehicle. So from Thursday morning until Sunday morning when the last of his gas ran out he and the dog stayed in the vehicle. They drank a couple of cans of soda, a bottle of water his kids had left in the car and snow that he melted with a fire made from eight chairs that he was delivering to a woman in Topeka, Kan.
When the gasoline ran out, Pede said, he knew he had to try to walk out. The weather wasn't bad; the sun was out. He thought he would freeze to death with temperatures dipping to 6 degrees at night if he stayed in a non-heated vehicle.
He started walking. Much to his surprise, as he headed down the mountain, he found a lot of the heavy snow had melted in the days he had been stuck in the forest.

"He is a good man, and a good dad. I couldn't imagine a day without him," said his wife Amanda Pede. As for Jason Pede, he said, "You are darn right I feel lucky to be alive. But it won't sink in until I hold my wife."
Lost my saddle in.. CO? Lost my dog in Santa Fe?
And Amarillo by mornin’.
Like his wife is gonna buy this.
He was picking up a box of cats in Aspen, Colorado to deliver to Davenport, Iowa? What is this guy doing driving all around the country transporting pets?
you see this one?
Nope.....lost his ass in a casino to a hooker more like it.....:o)
So the dog was barking and pointing at him?
Yep. I’m in a basin over 9,000 feet...wind gusts to 110. It’s hard to understand as to why so many people move up here then stay indoors all the time. Within a few years, they just seem to bloat up and die from staying indoors all the time. It appears that shopping, watching television and the like are their greatest pastimes. I like to be outside most of the time, myself.
He gets buried in snow in Colorado. Missing for 4 days. They find him near Amarillo. He sure as hell can travel fast...on foot...in near blizzard conditions. I ain’t buyin’ it. Can’t happen.
Why would we try and pass up a dozen small towns etc ....?
I think this report like Nick says was written by a drunk presstitute er sumpthin !
Nite ya’ll !
... Its hard to type when all you have are paws!
____________
LOL..That’s funny! But no one would have ever known if you hadn’t said something.
I wonder if he found it? lol
Woof
Makes more sense now.
“He is a good man, and a good dad. I couldn’t imagine a day without him,” said his wife Amanda Pede.
Must like pets quite a bit. Or is he a animal transporter?
