The "Foolish" Sarah Palin Confounds the "Wise"
City On A Hill Blog ^ | Wanda McDonald

Posted on 02/08/2010 2:10:54 PM PST by CondoleezzaProtege

But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; - 1 Corinthians 1:27

I believe Sarah Palin is going to be a living example of this verse, to us as Christians and to the secular world of Hollywood, intellectuals and media elites. Through no fault of her own, she and her family have been viciously criticised, belittled, and slandered and yet, she continues to draw crowds and fans by the thousands. What is it about this woman that brings out the most venomous blogs, commentaries and articles I've ever seen in my 52 years of living? I believe it is what the above verse says. Actually, I like how the Old King James version states it. Instead of using the words, "put to shame," it uses the word, "confound," a much better word to describe Sarah Palin and the real "gut" reaction the eletist have to her. They just don't quite know what it is they don't like about her. It's just there..."confounding" them.

I think I know. I believe God has raised her and others that we may not even be aware of yet ,"for such a time as this." There are many Esthers, Deborahs, Daniels and Josephs out there who are not intimidated by the enemy and Sarah Palin is one of them. She has the elite media and intellectuals "confounded." They're all talking about her, trying to figure out what she is going to do and everytime they think, "aha, we have her now," she does something completely unexpected.

After Sarah gave her resignation speech, all of the commentators and politicians were in a frenzy trying to analize and criticize, but when I heard her resignation speech, I knew. Here is a woman who is not afraid to speak the truth, even if it's not the "politically correct" thing to say. She speaks to the heart of middle America, the common men and women, you know, the ones who cling to their guns and religion and at the same time she has the heart of a woman and mother who speaks out for the unborn and handicapped and says their lives are of value in a country that has numbed its conscience to these precious individuals. This is a woman who has been ridiculed for her faith and her conservative values like no other woman in the public arena. I don't know what God has planned for Sarah Palin, but I am thankful for her and I'm praying for God to raise others up in our nation who will be willing to take a stand no matter the cost.

Sarah is hardly foolish, but those that consider themselves wise think so. However, those who consider themselves wise are, by that consideration, foolish.

In any case, look for Sarah the “foolish” to pwn the “wise.”

I appreciate Sarah Palin and the energy she brings to fiscally austere conservatives, as well as to socially conservative voters. I consider myself both socially conservative and pro-austerity when it comes to spending.

However, I have never heard Sarah Palin articulate the conservative position on tax rates and cuts and their stimulating effect on the economy. I'd like to know she has a strong and deep understanding in her core about how important cutting marginal rates on personal income at the high brackets, cutting capital gains taxes (or eliminating them), and cutting corporate tax rates (or eliminating them). The next President needs to not only be austere, but also pro-growth. We do not need a conservative that thinks you have to "pay for tax cuts." There are quite a few who do not understand the Laffer curve, and I do not want to get involved in promoting a candidate who will take on the conservative label and not know what it means in such an important area. I made that mistake with GWB, but I do not intend to make it again.

what really kills the liberals and RINOs about Sarah is the fact that she is a successful family woman. she is self made, like Todd, and not beholding to anyone. and to top it off... she is feminine. **gasp**

as far as hollywood is concerned, feminine American women are so 1950s.

well... most Americans prefer their women to be women, and not guys with boobs.

GWB did cut cap gains and cut the top rate on personal income a little, and I definitely was grateful to him for that. But the whole of his presidency was one who carried the mantle of conservatism without really understanding it or being able to articulate it well. We cannot afford that again.

This mostly God rejecting world considers folks like Sarah Palin to be ‘fools’. In the eyes of the world, those who believe in the God of the Bible, and recognize that they are the sinners Christ died for..... ARE fools. These verses in I Corinthians describe the ‘world’s’ attitude. THEY consider us to be ‘fools’. BUT...one goes on to read that...

“.....the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. ICor 1:25.”

So, the REAL fools are those who are attacking and belittling Sarah Palin and all of us like her.

This may sound odd, but the THREE MOST IMPORTANT BOOKS we must use right now as we fight a serious battle for the future of our country as we know it, are (in importance), The Bible, Sun-Tzu’s *Art of War*, and finally, Saul Alinsky’s *Rules for Radicals*. I am convinced the Palin camp and the candidate herself is reading these three fastidiously, having fun and vanquishing them at the same time. Ronald Reagan lives on!!! ;-) Viva! Ole!

You’re obviously confounded as well. The verse says that it’s the simplicity of godly people that confuses all these “smart” people with multiple alphabets after their names. Condi did not post anything disrespectful.

She is a supply sider.

Owns a commercial fishing busines and has owned a service station. She communicates these ideas exceptionally well to the common folks.

Explaining the Laffer Curve is for policy wonks and economists. Not for the elecatorate.

Exactly. Amen to that. God’s words spoken through Paul ring true for all time and it’s always fascinating to see the truths come to life before our eyes.

No need to explain the laffer curve. Just want to know she understands and can articulate conservative pro growth financial and tax rate thoughts. Cannot afford to have someone who wants to pay for tax cuts. Also need someone who knows which ones to fight for.
