...that Audi eco-nazi commercial sent the wrong message at our house...there's too much of that going on right now as it is...I don't need a glimpse into an eco-totalitarian future...I guess the Europeans thought it was very clever, but it disgusted me.
“Right - I thought it was VERY right on target at ridiculing the greenies to the max!!! I was LOL!”
How so? The only reason the Audi was allowed through was because it had a biodiesel engine. I guess you could laugh at it, but my friend, 1984 seems all the more real.
Obama’s got cap-and-trade in his budget for next year, you know. Otherwise that 1.6 trillion dollar deficit looks even bigger.
I seem to remember a commercial about a guy in his backyard at the barbeque when a "meteor" hurtles towards him, and turns out to be a pebble when it lands.
Or maybe I imagined it.

I guess my family is kind of low brow...we liked the doritos commercial.
as for the green police...it kind of freaked me out. Its like a conservatives nightmare scenerio...but kind of funny, chasing the hot tub guy around the yard!
I loved it and I’m a wife. LOL
All the e trade commercials were great... the taco bell ones really were the worst.
Well, she only scowled because she understood it.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
Couldn’t decide if it was satire or not. Maybe Audi wanted to send the message of, if you want to be pro green do it by driving an Audi not all these other ridiculous ways?
But maybe isn’t very good when you spend all that money and your audience isn’t sure what the message is.
I found it disturbing because they WILL enforce green laws someday.
The Audi commercial was funny up until you see the Audi. I kept waiting for Al Gore to step out and make a joke. Charger ad was bad also; it went on and on and on.
I loved the Doritos commercials. (all except the casket) The dog bark and “don’t touch my mamma” were hilarious.
Census was horrible.
Go daddy ad wasn’t as good this year.
Overall, not so many good commercials. Kind of a let down.
It was definitely satire. But also it cannot be denied that the commercial was playing to that typical lib “smug” factor.
I agree and the message was DON’T buy Audis if you are red blooded. They are unreliable snob mobiles anyway.
Yes the Charger ad was 20 seconds too long and Go Daddy flopped. They just want you to go to their site to see the hot stuff now.
See post 40.
Don’t Touch My Momma was my 2nd fav commercial....
Then there was Letterman, Leno, and Oprah saying “This is the worst super bowl party ever..,.,” and, with them at a party - righto!
The ad was parody. Personally I thought it was hilarious. The ad was a send off of how the lefties want to control our lives and arrest anyone for basically not living to *their* standards, but you can elude the “green police” in your Audi - yes, an Audi, not an econo box death trap like a Smart Car. Very clever, though I can’t see myself ever buying an Audi being a Bimmer guy.
Yes - over all I think the shock value of the SB commercials are losing their appeal...
This year I though most of the commercials were ‘cute’ - not memorable. On balance the Doritos commercials were the best...
But - I still like the gutsy Audi spots... what a great way to slam the PC Green - Enviro crowd as being nothing more than a ridiculous bunch of sad clowns...
Yes, I liked the way the Audi commercial made fun of the greenies. But it was a bad AUDI commerical IMO.
Showed them exactly for the facists that they are. It’s not surprising this came from a Germany company. Europe, especially Germany and the UK, is becoming increasingly paralyzed by global warming hysteria.

After reading Audi’s website on the ad campaign, I don’t buy the Audi ad as parody at all. This is pre-Climategate fascistic control $@#$. Just my opinion.
