For those who didn't like the WHO. Please list which band you would have liked. Daughtry-----Chris Daughtry's band.

they were horrible. Daltry reminded me of a dat Andy Williams at Branson, and Townsend looked like Boy George

I think when you look at especially those rappers who both produce and rap you see some real talent. I think in a lot of respects they are similar to Dylan in that it isn't about range (or sometimes a pleasurable voice) but about delivery. For the faults about the words he uses, Eminem is gifted at getting across the rage he was trying to convey in his delivery. And the writing does take more talent than most want to give it.
Again I will throw out Outkast as a talented band. To me it is hard to listen to their album Stankonia as a whole, and
B.O.B. and say their isn't talent there. Different from what a guitarist has, but talent nonetheless. And there are a lot of other talented rappers out there. P.O.S. and Aesop Rock being two of my favorites.

Maybe you should update yourself on this thread. 80%+ think they should retire. BTW, don’t attack my patriotism when talking about foreigners.

Late to the thread, but maybe the answer is not much of anything worth a damn has been recorded since then?
What would you prefer, some Nirvana grunge rock, with a side of heroin?
To: doorgunner69
50 years from now, people will still be playing The Beatles, Stones, Who, Led Zep, while nobody will even know anything about these bands today.

With Kurt being dead for over 15 years now I would say Nirvana is out. Foo Fighters would be a great option though. And it is music much more suited to the setting than Nirvana in any case.

The music of your youth sticks with you I think. Those older bands get incorporated into the youth of today, but they take on new bands as well.
As much as I hate Kings of Leon’s new album (their first two were excellent) it is hard to imagine people not wanting to listen to those songs and taking them back to some excellent times they had listening to it.

Speaking of Nirvana and Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl's new project "Them Crooked Vultures" (with John Paul Jones and Josh Homme) is very good. They were on SNL this weekend. Good to see Dave banging on the skins again.

I was at a Beatles revival concert, here at Red Rocks in Colorado last August. There were three generations in the audience. All three were thrilled to be there. It’s the music, not who is performing it; that matters most.
As for tonight’s halftime, I thought the staging/lights/pyro was the best ever. The sound quality mediocre. The music, excellent.

Sorry. I love The Who and there has never, ever been a better time for the song, "Won't Get Fooled Again." Yep. I wondered if they would be allowed to play it, since it can so easily be read as a slam at the Hopeychange BS.

Its time for Pete to hang up the old Gibson.
I saw that red Fender he was playing tonight and was wondering immediately if it was one of the Mark Knopfler Strats.
Anyone?

But what will the NFL do when all these guys are dead? The answer is all over the Disney theme parks.
