From Wiki:
He is sometimes confused with UFO debunker Philip J. Klass, who was born six months earlier and who died August 9, 2005.
Didn't realize there were two. I thought of Philip J. Klass when I saw the thread...

I’m not familiar with him as a sci-fi writer but I am familiar with him as a professional UFO debunker.

Yea. It would be nice if they came and said hi but I doubt they have any time in the past thousand years.

Well, reading back in the thread I see there were two Philip Klass’. I guess it just goes to show the wisdom of the great They Might Be Giants when they intoned:
Everything sticks until it goes away. And the truth is we don’t know anything.
I wouldn’t have been surprised if the UFO debunker had also been a sci-fi writer but it just isn’t the case this time.
