Tim Buckley had an Issac Hayes Octive all the way to a Smokey Robinson Octive in “Sweet Surrender” on Greetings from LA Album. He gave me chills.

He was a little nasty and could not play some of his stuff on Radio, LOL! Remember Monkey Rub and Hong Kong Bar?

In no particular order of preference . . .

Frank Sinatra.
Johnny Cash.
Miles Davis.
Tony Bennett.
Ray Charles.
Chuck Berry.
Elvis Presley, 1954-57. (John Lennon, alas, was right: Elvis died the day he went in the Army.)
B.B. King.
Muddy Waters.
Sonny Rollins.
Howlin' Wolf.

“32 posts and no mention of Sam Cooke?”

Yeah...that’s embarrassing. I can’t believe it...I threw in my three cents worth, too, but overlooked him.
