NBC -- in its News Division, at least -- has been very sensitive to racial matters since Don Imus was dismissed by MSNBC for jokingly using the phrase "nappy-headed hoes" to describe the Rutgers women's basketball team. Apparently, political sensitivity has not extended to the whole network.
Steve Krakauer at Mediaite reports that Questlove, the leader of the band for the late-night Jimmy Fallon show, complained to his more than 1 million followers on Twitter that NBC's cafeteria at 30 Rock in New York offered fried chicken "in honor of Black History Month."
NBC Universal replied on Twitter: "The sign in the NBCU cafeteria has been removed. We apologize for anyone who was offended by it." There's no word on whether the chicken special was removed along with the sign.

“There is nothing black about fried chicken.”
Actually I agree with you, but it is funny to watch NBC squirm to their own tune of racism.
They’d just better not serve crackers during White History Month, or I’m gonna be ticked!!
When will these people ever get a life, get an education, and realize what is important in life?
So, just what is it about fried chicken that is racist? I grew up in the preintegration period in the mid-south when blacks and whites alike ate very delicious foods such as friend chicken, greens and watermelon. Jokes were made of both races for being backward, but we knew better.
I feel for the Admins having to keep hooligans like you us in line. :)
Time to go. ...I know what I'm NOT having for supper.
I wonder if the movie Soul Food offended him as well...

“When will these people ever get a life, get an education, and realize what is important in life?”
Careful there, Sparky. These are the elites you’re talking about.
And no more burritos for Cinco de Mayo. That would indeed be racists.
“Proving once again that it is the LEFT that are the racists.”
I’ve worked with tons of liberals. By and large they are, at the very least, dismissive in their attitudes towards minorities in general. Their righteous indignation about racial issues is largely just an excuse to bash conservatives. It’s not authentic at all.
What the &*%$# is this %$#@head bitching about? I was raised in the South and I LOVE that menu. I wish I could get that at my cafeteria in Colorado.
Your ancestors wouldn’t have been insulted because corned beef is not now, nor ever was, an Irish dish. Matter of fact one would be hard pressed to find any Irish person who actually likes it, let alone purchase it. I have never seen it on a menu at any Irish restaurant or pub.
I truly don’t understand why this is demeaning.
If there was a German history month, and NBC’s cafeteria featured spaetzle, zauerbraten and weinerschnitzel, I would not be offended.
If in fact fried chicken is a popular food in black American culture, where is the insult?
Wow, I posted about German food before I even read your post.
Maybe he would rather have pork....
Come on, get over it. Chicken is not just for black people.
So if White History Month was ever celebrated would we be offended if they served steak and potato’s? Baked with everything on them ... maybe do a surf and turf????
Jalapeno cornbread...okay, let’s hear it from Mexicans?
I was once talking with a friend who is a big old democrat in California. She lamented that they always held the state RAT convention at the worst hotels, because they had to go to union hotels. I had to run out of the room laughing. Yes, you support people, but disparage them at the same time.
The only thing missing is watermelon.
