In my view, his presence on these shows alone should disqualify him, but Sarah Palin thinks he’s just wonderful because Sarah Palin doesn’t think. She’s a dummy, and it’s time her blind worshipers woke up to that, but they refuse to awaken from their slumber. Does it not bother her that, as the Sultan points out, Rand Paul compared the U.S. military to Hitler? Hellooooo . . . ?
Either Sarah Palin supports Rand Paul’s nutty views against torturing terrorists and siding with Iran against America or she’s just ignorant and uninformed beyond belief. I vote for both, which is why she is utterly unqualified to be anything in the conservative movement, including a spokesperson and admired figure, much less Presidential timber.
The Sultan points out that not only does Rand Paul side with Iran against America and beseech us to “understand their [Iran's] perspective,” but he calls for us to close Gitmo, and release the terrorists “drop them back off into battle . . . drop ‘em back off into Afghanistan” so they can perpetrate more terrorist attacks against our troops. Remember that the next time you hear the clueless Sarah Palin spout off something her handlers told her to say about how closing Guantanamo Bay is bad. She doesn’t mean what she says. And she doesn’t know what she’s talking about.

I don’t like Sarah Palin either, partially because she’s backing Rick Perry and generally because I don’t think she’s ready for the job, but bashing her on this call is wrong. I agree with her on this one.

Couldn’t agree more. I saw an article that addressed some of Deb’s points in something she had written earlier and suggested we all get on the same page.
BIG MISTAKE! First she accused everyone as having stolen her research and didn’t credit her, or something like that. Then the tirades came along so I sent her a clip of a valley girl type rocking her head side to side with “Whateverrrrr”.
The crowning event was her tirade against reports about the decrepid condition which one finds the city of Detroit today saying it is all a lie and selective reporting. Heck, when I went to the GM Technical Center a couple of years ago for a tunnel test, I was stunned by what I saw then. I won’t even imagine what it looks like today.

I didn’t say she is an idiot, I said she comes across as an idiot. And what choice would I have in the matter, vote for Obama instead? Vote for an irrelevant candidate, in effect givving Obama a half a vote? The two party system sucks.

What job is that? I was not aware that she had a job or was looking for a job other than as a Fox News contributor. That isn't any reason to dislike her.
I like Sarah Palin. I chipped in for her legal fund. She was one of only two reasons I voted for McCain. (1. McCain was not Obama, and 2. Sarah) I don’t think she is an idiot or incompetent.
Neither do I think she is the bright and shining saviorette of the conservative wing of the GOP or the conservative movement at large. I was pleased when she got the Fox News gig, but so far, her commentary has been platitudinous, sounding more like her stump speeches than thoughtful, reactive opinion.
Would I vote for her? In the primaries it would depend on her opponents. In the general election I’d vote for her against just about any Democrat I can think of. If she winds up with the nomination in 2012, ubetcha.
I see her beauty but I am not blinded by it as I think many of her adoring fans are. I see her genuine ability to relate to and inspire the ‘folks’. But I don’t see her as President. At least not now.

I reserve judgement on Rand Paul. If he starts chanelling dad, then we’ll have a problem.
And Sarah is free to an opinion just as am I. I’m not perfect, and neither is she. I like her a lot but will hold off on any adoration until she has more of a track record.
