TUCUMCARI, N.M. (KRQE) - A man stashing a cash crop rolled his car Saturday and now he's got bigger troubles than a wrecked car.

New Mexico State Police patrolling Interstate 40 near Tucumcari Saturday morning responded to an accident call.

Henry Alan Lowe, 40, of El Paso lost control of his sedan and crashed into a snow pile along the interstate.

Officers noticed tracks leading back and forth from the trunk of the rolled car.

They discovered 238 pound of marijuana in large plastic-wrapped bundles. The street value of the pot is around $643,000.

Lowe was treated for a gash to the head. Then police arrested him and booked him into the Quay County Detention Center.

NM list PING!

Another article says the tracks led to a nearby overpass and he had stashed the pot under the roadway.

(Let me know if you want on or off the NM list.)

He wishes it was meant for him. Most likely going to mid-west cities.

My dad told of the criminal back in the early 70s that robbed a convenience store in my hometown. Said sadsack then walked directly home in the newfallen snow.

Another idiot thief stole an engine and transmission setup from a junkyard. The idiot punctured either the oil or transmisson pan (can't remember which) when he loaded the setup onto his trailer. The cops followed oil trail and spotted the stolen drivetrain sitting on the trailer within a half a block of the end of the oil trail.

The pipeline is 54 Highway. El Paso to Tucumcari, Liberal and Wichita KS, Kansas City, St. Louis, and ends up in Chicago if there is any left by that time. Unless it was an order specific for the Chi town end, only 100 Kilos wouldnt make it past Kansas City. I bet that there are a lot of cranky workers in Tucumcari and Liberal this week.

Driven the backroads so I wouldn’t get weighed
And if you give me weed, whites and wine
And you show me a sign
