They come in threes - celebrity deaths: Will we have a trinity of nilhilists? Howard Zinn dies Jan 27. JD Salinger dies Jan 29. Who is next?
Fail? You named two that I never heard of. Who did they play in the movie?
Do you know who passed away the other day?

Zelda Rubinstein (1/27/10) from Poltergeist.

That was perhaps one of the most accurate reflections on the death of J.D. Salinger.
Well done. I have not commented at all on it, because I was still trying to frame it. You just did it perfectly.
Flea is the guy who played bass for the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Aimee Mann was the lead singer for the group 'Till Tuesday (ya know..."Voices Carry"). I had to look up the other guy even though I'm not exactly stoopid in the Country Music category.
Gore Vidal ?
I....don't think he was in 'The Big Lebowski'. I could be wrong.
Thanks
I was being goofy ;) Have a good weekend.
Last June, after Farrah Fawcett and another big celebrity passed in short order, one FReeper predicted Michael Jackson would be the third which turned out to be true and freaked out a lot of people here.
I used to participate in dead pools and always failed terribly so I’ll guess someone I hope I’ll be wrong about. How about Nancy Reagan?
Salinge was not a nihilist. What are you talking about?
Baba O’Reilly?
Where did you get the notion that JDS was a communist?
I used the term for the sake of brevity. Of course, that does not give as rich of an account of his overall approach to life in general as a much longer discussion could.
The object of this thread was humor...
All well and good but the term was virtually the opposite of the truth so it cocked my eyebrow.
Didn’t read the whole thread but Frances Reid of Days of our Lives (soap) died at age 95.
