The man thinks his approval rating is his golf score.

He's trying to get it as low as possible.

We really are a nation in decline.

Perhaps he’ll use the money saved on some jobs program.

Did PBS get the ax too?

I guess he wants to kill the space program and take that money to pay for his new high-speed trains. Go figure.

Typical Marxist/Populist solution; Rob from Peter to pay Paul.

I’ll bet those Liberal weenies at NASA who voted for him are sure sorry now.

It’s for the children and a sacrifice. High speed trains that no one will ride are much more important and besides it makes us look just like European nations.

The ironic thing is that Florida voted for this bum. I read somewhere this decision may cost up to 5,000 jobs in the KSC area alone. I hope they're happy with their choice. Senator Bill Nelson, where are you? Elections have consequences.

And that's not even counting other NASA locations around the country and at contractors. We're turning our backs on territory we've explored and staked out. Kind of like Lewis and Clark coming back and finding out that gee, the country decided, we don't need to explore the West. Nothing there but mountains and trees and beavers and Indians. Much better to spend our money "here at home" on the East Coast.

What a bunch of stupid chumps.

He cannot do this unilaterally. Congress has to agree.

Just emailed my friend who is working on this project in Huntsville... I hope this isn’t true.

NO MANNED SPACE TRAVEL MEANS WE WILL HAVE TO RELY ON OTHER COUNTRIES FOR SATELLITE REPAIR???

I wonder how Crist is going to reply ... Shutdown of Cape Canaveral is going to be bad for Florida employment.

I doubt the NASA manned space program is dead. If it is, we can always hitch a ride on the Russian, Chinese, Japanese or Indian manned rockets.

Carter cut the B-1, Reagan built the new and improved B-1b.

Its far more important we transfer wealth to morons and ignorant uneducated immigrants, than it is to continue our technology excellence in space. Besides the manned space program employs mostly those evil white people.

Lets remember that.

As far as I’m concerned, Obama can take an untethered spacewalk...where he can then try to thumb a ride home.

I'm not particularly inclined to bash Obama on this.

Every president since LBJ has been anemic at best on manned space exploration. I certainly don't think McCain would have been any different.

Combine that with NASA, that has wandered around in a daze since the late eighties, spending billions on canceled project after canceled project, and you get basically no hope for a return to space exploration in our lifetimes.

Unless it's done commercially.
