These sure bring back the memories. Turn the speakers up a little to drown out the background noise and enjoy a few minutes of nostalgia.

What a great flick! Looked like they were going to leave out Murphy, but they made good on that! The only star I missed (did I blink?) was the man who brought Kid Shelleen to the silver screen.

And won an Oscar for it too ...
"Yeah, it's all over in Dodge. Tombstone, too; Cheyenne, Deadwood, all gone, all dead and gone. Why, the last time I came through Tombstone, the big excitement there was about the new rollerskate rink that they had laid out over the OK Corral. I'll tell you something else, I used to work for the Buffalo Bill Wild West Show and a Congress of Rough Riders. And I rescued many stagecoach passengers from road agents and drunkard injuns... in the nick of time! Twice a day, three times on Saturday."

Kirk Douglas turned down the role of Shaleen. Jack Palance desperately wanted the role but was never offered it.
At his acceptance of the Oscar, Lee Marvin opened by saying, "Half of this probably belongs to a horse out in the Valley somewhere".

That’s really well done. My dad came from a little farm in Nebraska and never stopped loving the rodeo. He also hated that country took over his western music. We listened to that stuff a *lot*.

“Yeah, they was a breed in those days!”
“Never seen a man go through a day so fast!”
“Hallelujah brother, I’m here to comfort the sinner and return the stray lamb to the fold! Let him who’s troubled—” “Got a match?”
I LOVED that flick.

The old TV Westerns were taken off TV and replaced by the modern day Cop shows because it was believed the Westerns were to violent.
