A listener to Washington, DC's news talk radio station WAMU - 88.5FM (an NPR station) wrote the following today in the D.C. Radio & Television web site's Mailbag section (www.dcrtv.com)--
"Dear DCRTV: Diane Rehm on her 01/22/10 10am domestic politics show on WAMU said that "Republicans have wanted to kill Obama from the time he was elected." None of the guests said a word in response. Is Diane getting too old for the show or is she just showing her true colors? Her comment deserves some media attention. It's outrageous. Rgds. lanzil (1/22/10)"
I was appalled. I've included a link to Rehm's web page at WAMU, which has links to her podcast of today (1/22/10). Had words like these been uttered by Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Levin, etc., they'd be driven out of town and fired from their jobs.
This is unbelievable. Typical NPR station staple.
I don’t want him killed, I want him arrested and deported!
We want to exorcise the country from the Obama disease scourge.
They talk about killing. These people are dangerous and have dangerous fantasies.
I know of no one calling for his death- that is a crime and immoral. We just want the usurper out of office before he causes more damage.
I bet this ass is projecting and actually wanted Bush dead.
I think talk of killing the president, any president, ought to result in a frank discussion with the secret service. I am old enough to remember such a murder as well as a few attempts on presidents and this is not a light subject.
Ick! Thanks. I’ll put on my hazmat suit. ;-)
We want him to live a long disgraced life to serve
as a bad example of liberalism so our great grand
kids won't make this blunder again. I want him to
live to be 125 or older.
""""Remember how it was after 0bama!""""
Disgusting! Could she be “projecting” her own ideas?
It's the Libs who have wanted Republicans to want to kill Obama since the moment he was elected.
What to say about Diane Rehm? If you want to gain an understanding of the modern leftist mind, listen to a few of her broadcasts. Not elucidating at all, no critical thinking or analysis... really, nothing that cannot be found in the pages of that local DC paper. And incredibly painful to listen to. Her speech problem aside, the woman is as thick as a brick; there's not much going on in her head. And yet the bolshies tune in, presumably satisfied with themselves for having endured another round of mental flagellation and happy to have reinforced the programming they receive from the state media.
Ser....iiiiiii....ou......slyyyyyyyyyy......... whooooooooo..... caaaaaan......... lisssss..............tennnnnnn..... toooo.... thaaaaaaaaaaat.... craaaaaaaap?
NPR...the Air America that won’t go bankrupt.
We need to get NPR defunded.
If a conservative talker said that, they’d likely be off the air.
your NPR ping
Diane Rehm always seems very uninformed. She just seems reflexively liberal; and overall just seems intellectually shallow.
That narrative would make a great lead-in for a SciFi story.
The libs pull this out everytime Obama’s in trouble.
Personally, I think it’s a projection fantasy. Especially now. The hopeychangey period is over. Now comes the long slog.
From their point of view they have to look back to previous Democrat presidents to predict their future. Since Obama’s unwilling to do a Clintonian shift to the center, I believe that they fantasize that Obama will be a martyr.
Given the disappointment that the Left is having with Obama, I think the Left should be where the Secret Service focuses their attention.
WAMU pretty much sucks since they removed the Bluegrass music programming.
I figured that she was some sort of “honored legacy voice” or something, and no one at NPR is mean enough to shove her wheelchair down the steps.....yet.
But you know how those national socialists feel about euthanesia, and “useless feeders.” The Death Panel calleth.
