A western New York man accused of beheading his wife at the Muslim-oriented television station they founded will claim he was a victim of years of abuse at home.

Muzzammil Hassan (moo-ZAHM'-mel HAH'-sahn) was in a Buffalo courtroom Friday, where he fired the lawyer who has been representing him for nearly a year and hired a new one with a different strategy.

New lawyer Frank Bogulski says he'll pursue a battered-person defense.....

This crime should serve as a perfect example of why the notion that most muslims are peace-loving and harmless is suspect, at best. In the U.S. and Europe, "honor killings" have occurred throughout the muslim community, not just among some small band of terrorists holed up in a cave somewhere. And despite their respectable and sane outward appearance (just look at the photo), those who have committed these horrors have been just as brutal and bloodthirsty as the most crazed member of al qaeda.

It's time to wake up - trust none of them.

Oh pleeeeeze.....the poor woman probably filed for divorce to get away from the abuse she was being subjected to. These muslim men, I don’t mean that all muslim men are all alike, but, on the whole they seem to be a pretty weasley, chicken bunch.

This happened quite near me, we have a sizable Moslem community (Yemen primarily) with a couple of Madrases that attract students from all over the US and Canada (remember the lackawanna 7 ?? One of the earliest groups caught?? ...
This TV station was a big deal with the muslims ... and so they would have been important leaders in their community

There is no doubt this was an honor killing but I suspect he will end up pleading insanity
