I happen to know of good source that Apple ordered 10,000 hi-tech color displays - this display looks about 10 years old.
The new color displays are for reading and books, etc.

I actually have one of those!
Handwriting recognition would have been better if I used a blindfolded chimp to do it!
But yeah, better duck and cover, cause those iFolks can get real ugly when you tweak their bee hive.

You know, when I was cleaning out our garage before we moved, I actually ran across one of these that I had totally forgotten I had. Hopefully someone will find it in the Goodwill store, since it's an antique!

Are you kidding me? Was this made by Mattel?
At any rate, I don't need to speculate. I have it on very good authority that the Apple Tablet will be under-powered and significantly over-priced. Yet the fan boys will line up in the dead of night wearing their Star Wars underwear waiting to hand over their cash. In six weeks Apple will introduce Tablet 2.0 for 2/3 the price of the original. The fan boys will be apoplectic with rage that Apple duped them, and then they'll line up again to hand over their cash for version 2.0.
Bank on it.

The BIG difference between the two:
The Newton had no solid vision behind it. The idea of what it should be changed several times during development, and so did the technology behind it. You know Jobs isn’t going to put out a tablet unless he has a clear vision for what it should be.
However, you can thank the Newton for the term “PDA.”

I have a Newton. No figgie, either!

Seriously revolutionary. It’s almost like a personal digital assistant. Hey, a PDA. It would be the first one. :-)
