A 13-year-old girl has been sentenced to 90 lashes and two months' prison in Saudi Arabia after she took a mobile phone to school.
A court ordered the girl to be flogged in front of her classmates following an assault on the school principal, according to the Saudi daily newspaper Al-Watan.
After the assault she was discovered to have concealed a mobile phone, breaking strict Saudi regulations banning the use of camera-equipped phones in girls' schools.

Obviously the jihadis are not successful in selling us their "War of Sharia".I mean how much would YOU pay to participate in cutting off a thief's right hand?
People tend not to think about these things in the right way like we do.
Maybe we can apply for a cultural grant from the Obama Junta? Call it a comparative law study.
BTW, your tree solution for FR is engenious.
Animals.
but,...keep in mind that we are perpetuating the Sharia law by propping up and defending the monarchy because we have become dependent on foreign oil.
Its not as clean as you think just by averting your eyes. One way to help change this hyprocritical dynamic is to discover other oil fields and gain agreements with other nations.
Agreed. There is no conection between war on terror policy and Big Oil policy. I do see some stirring in the big oil ranks these last few days, they seem to be waxing patriotic ( T Boone Pickens).
You are right though. The west could be self suffient in oil if we played our exploration cards right.
Sarah Palin knows this big time. Its one of the reasons I think she should be president.
the most interesting note about Palin is, most career republican politicians probably don’t respect her appeal because they don’t believe she has paid her dues in the trenches of washington politics. My answer to that is, so what? Look at the mess that politicians have created over the past twenty years. So here we have, a person arising from average america, that has an incredible astuteness of purpose, rationale, and a backbone of principle, which, i believe McCain recognized, and thus by this measure, she is thrusted in the spotlight of conservative worthiness. Not that she wanted it, but, she honestly believes she has something to offer to conservatives. And conversatives has responded. She just needs to surround herself with the right staff, that are loyal to her, and i believe she won’t fail them.
Listen, if a community organizer, elected one-term senator can be elected as president of the united states,..then a principled former governor can make it happen also.
And if there are some career republicans don’t like that, then tough luck. The key word here is principled. She has it, Reagan had it,..never changed with the wind, or to do it to cut a deal,...he just waited to see if the time was right. And it was, ..after a failed one-term democrat president.
She has paid her dues in the morass of Alaskan politics and beat Washington trying to interfere. That is considerably more accomplishment than paying her dues only in Washington.
religion of peace (except for everyone else)
funny i don’t see gloria allred and the rest of the feminazis out in front of this one.
