A 13-year-old girl has been sentenced to 90 lashes and two months' prison in Saudi Arabia after she took a mobile phone to school.
A court ordered the girl to be flogged in front of her classmates following an assault on the school principal, according to the Saudi daily newspaper Al-Watan.
After the assault she was discovered to have concealed a mobile phone, breaking strict Saudi regulations banning the use of camera-equipped phones in girls' schools.

Its none of my business what the customary laws are in Saudi. And if anyone who lives in Saudi doesn’t like Sharia law, they can leave, or revolt and change it.
I do not have any sympathy or bleeding heart over the criminal law imposed in another nation.

I have a mind to write Saudi Arabia and tell them that their actions are a thousand times more immoral than the crime committed. Anyone who could justify whacking a little 13 year old girl 90 times for a cell phone incident, has lost all concept of reality.
If these Saudis think they are doing good, I have some swamp land in Florida they can buy.
If you recall, a few years back about a dozen Saudi girls died in a burning school as the religious police blocked their exit because they had no head coverings.
