What he is saying is that both parties are corrupt and they are. Both bought and paid for.
Brown is not a Conservative by any stretch of the imagination, I read the guy as a state senator voted for RomneyCare so just who was really elected? This guy ran a a great campaign but certainly did not embrace National Republican Politics to get there.
The vote for Brown was from people of all types fed up with national government.
I am not sure that much has changed, but we will see.

This really does not change as much as people think it does.

There appears to be 3 basic schools of thought among republicans on this elections.

The first is the panty tossers who are taking their panties off and slinging them on stage in hopes of him (or someone like him) running for president. These people are morons who spend to much time listening to beltway jabbering and actually think Mass. is like a cross section of America.

Then there are the folks who think the hard right can win anywhere they run. Unfortunately we stand as much chance as in Mass. as David Duke winning a race for mayor of Detroit.

In this case I am in the category that looked at the reality of a Mass. election and saw a chance to stop the health care bill, move the country marginally in the right direction, and slap the democrats hard.

It doesn't mean that moderate are acceptable everywhere, just in places controlled by the hard left. If Rudy Giuliani ran for Mayor of Detroit he would get my full support. Having him run for president is a whole other matter and it would be a cold day in hell before I would support him.

All that said, the GOP would be morons to think conservatives are willing to accept the first moderate thrown our way in a presidential election.

I looked it up in the Book of Gator. The rule says that we are supposed to wait 30 days before we hang our own.

I’m still celebrating last nights win.

Just when it looks as if our boat is heading in the right direction, there are those that dump the air from our sails... it’s suicidal.

We need to grab this wind at take it as far as we can.

Are those on our side immune to drawing incorrect conclusions to Senator Scott’s election yesterday?
Lesson 1: Run on keeping America secure, you will get votes.
Lesson 2: Run on keeping government out of your wallets, you will get more votes.
Lesson 3: Keep matters of conscience out of the public square, you will receive enough votes along with Lessons 1 and 2, you will be elected.
Can Conservative candidates follow that lesson plan? We shall see.

It’s really a close call. If the Dem had won, the 2010 election scene would have been a slam dunk for Republicans. As it is, the Dems have a 9 month probationary period to get the message straight and in line with voters. They can quit spending, quit taxing, and work on the unemployment rate without the distraction of pushing their socialist agenda until 2011. They had been living in Dementia World until last night, and now they are awake. They have an opportunity to change direction and save themselves.

But, since we won, we got a big boost of confidence that will attract more good candidates who believe they can win. Conservatives, who never like to throw good money after bad, will have more confidence donating. And of course, the health care bill is derailed at least for a while.

Since I have no reason to believe that Dems will actually make any change in direction, I think the election is a net positive. Now, if the public goes back to sleep and thinks that this election has solved the problem....

The guy hasn’t been around for 24 hours and already the knives are out

make me sick

Me too. Scott Brown yesterday put every Democratic seat in the country in play next fall. That is astounding. Instead of trying to pick off this or that Republican in the fall, Democrats have to defend their entire line. It will cost them a fortune and they will have to do triage. Some seats they won't have the money to defend. All thanks to Scott Brown.

If voting for Barney Frank would accomplish that, I would vote for Barney Frank.

A lot of them didn’t vote FOR Brown, a lot of them voted against Spawn of Satan Coakley and a lot of them voted AGAINST ObamaCare because they’ll be paying twice for the healthcare they already got.

Mass is already finding doctor shortages, why should we want to copy that?

Lesson 3: Keep matters of conscience out of the public square, you will receive enough votes along with Lessons 1 and 2, you will be elected.

You tend to lose the 'abortion is the only issue that matters' conservatives with that lesson.

BTW - that's the reason why McCain was the 2008 candidate. The single-issuers went for the Huckster because he was the only candidate advocating the pro-life holy grail of the 'Human Life Amendment'. This split the conservative vote and allowed moderate squishes to choose our candidate.

He is known to believe in access to basic healthcare as a right, he is not all that pro-abortion and he has supported civil unions for gays.

So he is by no means perfectly conservative. Too many people on our side seem to be in ecstacy over the guy and are talking about him as the candidate for Prez in 2012.

Thats plain stupid at this point.

True but the people who want Brown for President are also jumping the gun.

I agree that we must remain vigilant. Most people relax after a victory and forget the battles ahead. The danger is not Scott Brown; it is ourselves. Over years of dealing with city politicians and bureaucrats, I have learned that it takes only a single council vote to irrevocably change a neighborhood; to maintain one is an ongoing series of battles. Government is like a camel sneaking into the tent; it is easy to let in and very difficult to evict.

I believe the people have won a round with Scott Brown. Now we must take on Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and the RINOs.

What started the response of conservatives to Brown was the push to further Mitt Romney through Brown, and also the instant bandwagon to make the proabortion Senator, a Presidential possibility.

So mikey,

Should I lock and load my 50 cal?

Do we meet at mid-night at the Boston Docks?

What are you prepared to do?

You are quoting people and insinuating things that you don't have any real intention of following through with, and if you do, you are an idiot to post them online.

Just another keyboard commando and anyone that gets involved with you is even less stable than a one winged airplane.
