Are those on our side immune to drawing incorrect conclusions to Senator Scott’s election yesterday?
Lesson 1: Run on keeping America secure, you will get votes.
Lesson 2: Run on keeping government out of your wallets, you will get more votes.
Lesson 3: Keep matters of conscience out of the public square, you will receive enough votes along with Lessons 1 and 2, you will be elected.
Can Conservative candidates follow that lesson plan? We shall see.
You tend to lose the 'abortion is the only issue that matters' conservatives with that lesson.
BTW - that's the reason why McCain was the 2008 candidate. The single-issuers went for the Huckster because he was the only candidate advocating the pro-life holy grail of the 'Human Life Amendment'. This split the conservative vote and allowed moderate squishes to choose our candidate.
