This really does not change as much as people think it does.

There appears to be 3 basic schools of thought among republicans on this elections.

The first is the panty tossers who are taking their panties off and slinging them on stage in hopes of him (or someone like him) running for president. These people are morons who spend to much time listening to beltway jabbering and actually think Mass. is like a cross section of America.

Then there are the folks who think the hard right can win anywhere they run. Unfortunately we stand as much chance as in Mass. as David Duke winning a race for mayor of Detroit.

In this case I am in the category that looked at the reality of a Mass. election and saw a chance to stop the health care bill, move the country marginally in the right direction, and slap the democrats hard.

It doesn't mean that moderate are acceptable everywhere, just in places controlled by the hard left. If Rudy Giuliani ran for Mayor of Detroit he would get my full support. Having him run for president is a whole other matter and it would be a cold day in hell before I would support him.

All that said, the GOP would be morons to think conservatives are willing to accept the first moderate thrown our way in a presidential election.
