Video: Vikings throw late TD in blowout, Brooking goes after Favre

Did the Minnesota Vikings run up the score on the Dallas Cowboys in Sunday's NFC divisional playoff? Keith Brooking(notes) thinks so. A late Brett Favre(notes) touchdown pass infuriated the Dallas linebacker, who charged over to the Vikings' sideline to voice his displeasure. And in his postgame press conference he didn't back down.

The Vikings had held a comfortable 27-3 lead since the early part of the fourth quarter. Dallas looked completely deflated after going down 24 points and the team's subsequent play did nothing to dispel that notion. On the Cowboys' next two possessions the team went four-and-out, gaining a mere 14 yards on eight plays.

I know they say about Farve that he retired and then came back. I am sure he misses with all pro athlets miss. The comradery. But he is a player. And for G.B. not to take him back was a BIG mistake. He got back to rival team and kicked their asses. He was not touched last week. This week he took some hits but in Farve fashion DELIVERED. I just admire him. He has that will to win that so few really have. I am from Michigan, Lansing. We had one. He was called Magic. Give me 3 players and I will kick you butt attitude. I hope he wins the Super Bowl. What a great way to go out. And hell I am a Lion’s fan. LOL

Archie gave his heart and soul to the team, but I wouldn’t blame him for rooting for his son.

I would.

I was happy, because my daughter wasn’t letting me watch the game at all, but i managed to steal the TV for the last few minutes, and I got to see Brett throw a touchdown.

Hey, they are paid for 60 minutes of football, and the advertisers are paying for 60 minutes of football, and the fans tune in and show up for 60 minutes of football.

So i’m glad to see a team giving us 60 minutes of football.

I’m guessing that on the Cowboy’s previous possession, they didn’t kneel down 3 times.

Reggie Bush looks like he’s finally ready to live up to the hype.

The offense on any football team’s job is to score as many points as possible. The defense’s job is to give up as few points as possible. Favre and the Viking offense did their job. The Dallas Delinquents failed to do their job...and now we have people criticizing Favre and the Vikings with no criticism of the Delinquents. Cry me up a storm.

As a Green Bay Packers fan, though, I had rather hoped the dome would collapse during the game and take out both teams.

As a Vikings fan, I was hoping the Packers would be playing us next week in the Dome and regardless of the outcome, an NFC North Team would be in the Superbowl. Arron Rodgers is the best Quarterback in the NFL. Take care of him and surround him with great players. Watching Rodgers picking himself up off the ground in great pain over and over again all season long was disturbing. All the Packer fans can think about anymore is how much they hate Farve. They used to be the best fans in the country. I know because I grew up in Packer Country.

I can’t believe anyone asks. You root for your son. The only thing that would have been tough for him to decide would have been if the Colts played the Giants.

The Vikings - Chicago game was a great one. Classic Brett and it would have been nice if he pulled off the win. I guess I will have to settle for him pulling off a win in the SB (prayer said).

As far as running up the score. Yes he was a very, very bad person. Send Brett to the next round of the playoffs as punishment.

Does anyone really think if Romo or Rogers,or a few others, did that to the Vikings they would have the same opinion? Doubtful.

All I have to say is poor Cowgirls! You deserve a break so head for Disney World and enjoy.

I hear ya - Romo touched on the O-line issue in the post-game. Wade said the same thing. I think the team knows where blame goes.

MB3 and Roy just didn't get it done. Your Lions got a deal with the Roy trade.

Wouldn't mind seeing Choice in there a bit more. He's usually a spark to the offense. I was at the last Lions game in Dallas when that trash talking Kitna beat the Boys. Funny now he plays in Dallas.

You missed the point - Romo is not to blame for yesterday’s loss. If you watched and listened to the post-game, the O-line was taking heat - they just couldn’t stop the Vikes defensive rush.

Just tell me you picked the Saints to win next week as well as the Jets.

You are 0-4 so far so I need you to go 0-6.

Well still of the funnest days I’ve had was watching the Lions dismantle the Boys 38-6 in the playoffs in 1991, in fact I was at Reunion Arena watching it on a big screen. The taste of the Cowboys fans tears was sweet.

It’s about the only joy I’ve had as a Lions fan for the last 30 years.

A team should be trying to score on every play, regardless of the score. If the lead is insurmountable, put in your backups to gain game experience. I hate that “take a knee” crap.

At the lower/educational levels of the sport; up through most high school programs, you can destroy huge blocks of kids desire to play the game by running up the score, and is truly unsportsmanlike if the intent is to embarrass the opposition. So, I disagree with you , there.

With that said, Brookings needs to shut up and act like a big boy. He and his team mates make millions upon millions of dollars to provide entertainment in the form of organized sports. His team had multiple chances to stop the Vikes from scoring, and blew it. Maybe, instead of complaining about it, they need to be evaluating what they need to work on in the off season, so they don't get schooled in front of a national audience, again.

Just my two cents; having been on both sides of the issue at multiple levels of the game.

Agree heartily. Someone should give him a copy of his contract to re-read - that is if he can read. He gets paid big bucks to play defense. Might want to consider some other line of work like slow pitch underhand softball.

Landry Hat is saying Roy got $1M per catch on his contract. Roy is owed $21 million in guaranteed cash and $9 million for this coming season.

Even for Jerry those $30M is big money

I picked the Raiders and the Celtics.

Last week I was 4-0, this week 0-4. I actually picked the Jets and Saints, mostly because that's who I'd like to see win. I love the irony of the Jets beating the Colts, who passed up on the opportunity to kill them, and I lived in NO for a while, so while not a big Saints fan, I went to some games and would like to see them get past their old "Aints" history.

Most in Houston are laughing their ass off at the Crying Cowgirls!

The Crying Cowgirls could have just walked off the field if they didn't want to play any longer.

You missed the point

Actually it's Romo and Suisham that missed the point(s).

Glad someone, in this case the whole O line will take the heat for Romo's mediocrity.

Who cares about the post game when I saw the game with my own eyes just like many others.

Romo can't play the big games.

Expect him to be traded.

Just funny to read your posts yesterday.

So like 07Jack, I wanted you guys to pick the Saints since you were consistent with your other picks. LOL

If the Saint D doesn’t show up next week, the “Aints” we will remain.

To your point on the Jets, I’ve been pushing for a Colts/Saints match up, but really, a Jet game may be what the good doctor ordered.

Red Beans and Rice. Geaux Saints.
